quote:
Not since the 1999 South Carolina Gamecocks has a college football team with the SEC emblem on its chest gone winless in collegiate play. It was Lou Holtz's first season in Columbia and the Gamecocks were riding a 10-game losing streak. What followed was 11 more instances of hopeless futility:
Gamecock average attendance in 1999: 78,858 per game

As long as Kentucky plays ? The chances are a non-zero.

Damn Lou deserved his flowers for turning them around as quick as he did in that era. 21-game losing streak going into 2000 and only averaged 7 points a game in 1999.
No I don’t think that will ever be replicated again in todays era of SEC football

Vandy went winless in 2020. For a full season, they came dangerously close to going winless in 2021 (2-10, beating UConn by 2 and Colorado State by 3).
So yes, it's absolutely going to happen again. Probably sooner than later

LSU had 4 straight winless seasons recently since none of them count our vacated SEC title.
