Will a 9-9 SEC record get you in the NCAA Tournament?

I feel like there is going to be a log jam of teams in the 8-10/9/9 range…

8-10 will get you in, and the right team may be able to sneak in at 7-11.

I will tell you who will not be in that log jam. Arkansas. My second favorite program is in shambles….I’m predicting Cal is one and done there.

No way a 7-11 record gets you in. No way.

Not saying it will happen, but I can't say it's impossible. Lots of things would have to go just right for it to happen.

To the original question, 9-9 is a lock.

A deserving SEC team will definitely be left out this year.

Don't know.
We have a better team this season but considering our SEC competition, I'm still not convinced that we get in the NCAA tournament.
It's like doing some nice landscaping to your yard while your neighbors have added new swimming pools.

Absolutely 9-9 will get in.

Oklahoma would easily get in at 7-11. They’d be 20-11 overall.
I don’t think they get there, but it could certainly happen.

Joe has it like this right now. OU has a tough road ahead.

Honestly it depends on body of work.
Weak OOC schedule and 9 wins against the bottom half of SEC…probably not in.
OOC schedule with several Q1/2 games and a couple conference wins over ranked SEC teams and you’re in.
Supposedly committee doesn’t really look at conference records, they look at the overall body of work through strength of schedule and quality Q1/2 wins and bad Q3/4 losses.
SEC being such a tough conference this year will help boost many teams even if the conference record doesn’t look great because each team will have double digit Q1 games, and only need to win 2-3 of those to get in the tourney. It’s opposite of football where a couple losses knock you out of the playoff so a stacked conference actually hurts you. In basketball it helps you. They really do it the right way when it comes to selecting tourney teams in basketball

If you get 7 wins that’s at least 4 to 5 Q1 wins.

Auburn has played 11 quad 1 games and has 11 remaining, with 2 quad 2 remaining . 9-9 is a lock.

That’s with our insane non con body of work.
9-9 for a team with a lesser résumé, for example Texas with their relatively weak non con body of work, could be on the bad side of the bubble.

I think UGA is definitely a NCAA Tourney team. They are going to win some games, and the losses will be quality ones. You beat KY and you'll get more. They sure looked like a solid team yesterday. Getting down double digits and coming back with a chance to get into overtime at the buzzer. That showed heart,

Normally for the SEC, no.
This year, I say yes.
