So it wont conflict with any of the other bowls or the NFL for audience share.

Bowl games worth are directly proportionate to when they’re played.

As result the Texas bowl is the second biggest bowl to the National championship. I don’t make the rules.

Why aren’t there more bowls on January 4th is a better question.

And on a Houston rush hour workday as well.
Makes no sense.

New January kickoff could mean big TV ratings for Kansas State, LSU at Texas Bowl - Kansas.com
quote:

“It’s an opportunity for us to own the night and showcase our community and our event on the biggest of stages,” Texas Bowl executive director David Fletcher said. “A standalone event on ESPN is something we are really excited about.”

Without any other football games to compete against next week, the Texas Bowl could experience a similar surge in TV ratings.

That is most certainly one of the reasons why Texas Bowl organizers were willing to try playing in January.

“We’ve worked hard as a community to create a world-class experience through all of our events to be a destination for major college football,” Fletcher said. “That’s something that is really appealing about having that last shot on bowl season to showcase our game.”

The whole college football world is about to see why Jontre Kirklin will be taken 1.1 in the draft as the next great duel threat quarterback of our generation.

Because Unnecessary Roughness II, the Tiger Tale, needed more attention.

It should’ve been today. Lots of people still off… whereas most return to work tomorrow if they didn’t already go back today.
