That was the most fricked up start to a game I've ever seen. An NFL team couldn't come back from that shite.

He knows he can manipulate the college game by running to the LOS then send in his plays keeping the defense from substituting. Chips teams actually hurry with quick snaps. He knows the NFL rules committee would shut him down.

I think the real reason is that in the NFL the stars are richer than the coach. Its harder to reach them. At the NFL level, those folks figure they have arrived. its not a journey of personal development for a lot of them.

Yep. People like to say Saban was a failure in the NFL, but his seat wasn't warm at all. He didn't have to go back to college when he did.
I don't have a bit of a problem believing Gus when he says he prefers the college game.
That doesn't mean he won't get the NFL itch later. Despite what a couple of posters said, he's most certainly got something of an ego and is supremely self confident (that's not an insult. It is pretty much a prerequisite for the job) so he MIGHT one day get an offer he can't refuse but passing on jobs others would consider good opportunities.

It's very difficult for most college coaches to make it in the NFL.
You can just imagine how hard it would be for a high school coach.

Are the silly sideline signs and prairie dogging even permitted in the nfl?

Could have left that off.

Because he would suck in the pros, which doesn't let coaches run rough shod over the refs to stress them into making mistakes and missing calls

Gus should have taken the Vandy job when it was offered. That would have been perfect for him, since his offense is all about winning with less. His strategy is wasted at Auburn and it's like trying to fix something that's not broken.

Yea, I'm highly skeptical that Jones would even consider Gus. He may be some of the reason he wasn't considered for our job, but I really don't know.

Agree. Jerry ain't giving that job to Gus if it comes open.

Well, I guess that's why Saban left Miami, right?

So let me get this straight you believe a coach that has had a huge hand in taking Auburn to not one but two National Championship games would be better off at Vandy because he's a waste at Auburn? Nice logic there.

Gus then bent forward and felated himself for the next half hour.

He can lose games at Auburn and never get blamed for it - always someone else's problem.
Why would he want to leave?
