I hear you brother. Enjoy the win, these are awesome.

Grew up Yankee fan because of 7 and 9. In Tallahassee the game of the week was either Pittsburg or the Yankees. Dad was a Ted Williams Red Sox fan until TBS and Braves came along.

A variation of the script A can be seen on hats worn by the Bear all the way back in 1958.

Guess what team wasn't in Atlanta in 1958.

I'm a Dale Murphy era Braves fan.

TBS brought the Braves to the entire South. Truly were America's team.

Back in the day, you had 2 options to watch baseball in the South. The Braves on TBS, or Cubs (during the day) on WGN. That was it...and both were lousy...so you might as well choose the lousy team nearby that you could watch at night.

And we had a playoff run thread.

And, it was mostly Bama fans who kept trying stubbornly and knowingly against the rules to break MSB vs SEC Rant thread etiquette to post WS threads and updates here, without fear of ruining all of the quality discussion on this board from 8 pm to midnight EDT for a once in a 26 year period of real Braves fan excitement

Well thats not true. in fact Id say the vast majority of the SEC or at least original SEC is in the Braves footprint, sans LSU

I'm not sure that I know of any Bama fans/grads that are Yankees fans besides the ones I know that are actually from New York. I'd say over 90% are Braves fans.

I'm not against the Braves. I just don't like baseball. If I had to have a favorite baseball team, other than the Yankees (yes, because they are traditionally the best), then I'd choose the Braves. I've lived in Georgia most of my life, after all, and most of my friends are Braves fans.

The last few years, for whatever the reason, my wife has gotten into college football. I think she may be smitten with Nick Saban, the sumbench, and liked Tua since he was so humble and often gave credit to God. She particularly liked that. So she became a devoted Alabama fan. I guess she decided to check out other sports, though I never watch major league baseball. She was watching the game last weekend, looks at me very intently and says "you know, baseball is kind of boring". Yep. Baseball is boring. It's like watching paint dry.

Astro's fan here. Used to listen to the Astro's on AM radio with my grandad when i was a kid...he cut his teeth in the TX oil fields when he was young and moved to Baldwin Co. to start a family. Life long fan.

If they follow baseball, I find this true. You'll also find a lot of people in eastern Texas are Braves fans as well.

Who the frick else do you root for in baseball down in Gumpville?

Could give a rat's arse about baseball. Played it
in my youth as a summer fill-in until football &
basketball. Went to a number of St. Louis Cardinals
games but honestly, it always felt like wasting
time and money rather than enjoying it.
No interest in the World series at all. To each his own.
