Because they're the next Minnesota. They're a "has been" program whose best years are behind them. They are in the middle of nowhere, their state has no recruits, and they have no major tv markets.

Anytime Nebraska struggles is a good thing. They wrote their own ticket leaving the XII because of Texas. Considering how average at best the XII has been since the conference realignment, Nebraska and Texas A&M missed great opportunities to win some championships. Aggies are doing better in the SEC than what NU has ever done in the B1G.
Last conference title in 1999. Last NC appearance in 2001 where they trailed 34-0 at halftime. 0-4 in CCG since 1999.

Yep. Lived in Nebraska for 6 years and all of the Nebraska fans thought the would rule the BIG 10. At the CWS the year that they joined the BIG 10 they had a bunch of Beer Gardens and bars rewarding BIG 10 championship tickets off as door prizes.
Nebraska and their fans think they are a top 10 program and can push people around. The reason that they are in the BIG 10 is because they couldn’t stomach Mizzou getting to go to the BIG 10 over them.
Screw Nebraska. I hope they rot forever

Nebraska fans are as passionate as any. But they are a small TV market with limited recruiting pull.

Supposed to be a thumbs up- guess emojis don’t work.

Nebraska needs the SEC or BDF just to survive. Who wants to play football in Lincoln in November?
They have no recruiting base. No one from the South wants to move there to play football. They are very close to dropping to the Mountain West.
Their only shining light is their fan base. Once the wheat has been harvested (early September)the farmers have nothing to do but load up the RV and head south for football. Beginning on Thursday the fans show up and spend a lot of money.
The Pelini brothers screwed them up so bad they will never recover.

It's not a good fit for Nebraska and Covid has shown the differences. Missouri has never been a good fit in the SEC.
All this time spent moaning about Missouri and getting erect for the Nubbers when your sister has been calling for your micro penis, Gump.

And when Missouri is good we drew even better ratings than Nebraska
Highly doubt this.

Mizzou put 2 games in the top 10 ratings of all time for the regular season.
This is complete BS highest rated regular season CFB games last 25 years
St Louis and KC are nice TV markets but neither put out big numbers for CFB viewership

Tulane would be a better choice than Nebraska. Great venue. Party time. Bad recruiting for LSU.

Still, for the sake of argument, let us assume that it is possible to bring Nebraska back from the dead and we replace Mizzou with them.
Missouri is finally starting to settle down and develop SEC rivalries. They have a good sized population. They bring a lot to the table. They are right next door to SEC states.
Nebraska we would have to nurse back from the dead. Other than a handful of bowl games they would have history with no one in the conference. Where would we put them? We've got Missouri shoe horned into the East. You can't put Nebraska in the SEC East so who do we move over to balance things out? They haven't been a legit national power in the life time of most college football players today. Are they really going to bring a tidal wave of viewers with them? Not to mention they are on the arse end of nowhere.

Disagree.
They'll never be the Nebraska of the 90's but they can certainly compete with Wisconsin for their division in the BIG and have Wisconsin level success.
Huge fan base and one of the most financially solvent programs in CFB
I will add that I'm fine with Missouri in the SEC and Nebraska is a good fit for the BIG

Nebraska couldn’t get along with the big 12, and now the big ten.
They come off as an entitled bunch because of success a generation ago.
No thanks.

As each week passes it's getting to look more likely that Nebraska has a Scott Frost problem. After 3 seasons the Huskers aren't close to being UCF good. That should give pause and concern that the homeboy looks highly unlikely to change the Huskers' fortunes.

Mizzou said no to the Big X in 2011. It’s unlikely the Big X will ever invite MU again. Kind of like the SEC and FSU.
