Just for baseball's sake, the head coaches have repeatedly voted to keep it in Hoover. They like the similarities with the park in Omaha.
If true, seems like a very sound reason for keeping it in Hoover.

Nashville needs to up their accommodation capacity tons before realistically moving the SECCG there.

Have you been to Nashville recently? And do you realize how many people they already have to accommodate for events much larger than the SECCG? They have more than enough “accommodations” to host a football game
CMA fest, for instance, has 2-300k people for multiple days from all over the country. They manage that every year.

Football is locked in to Atlanta until 2026. They have played there since 1992.
Since 1994, I believe. The first couple were in B'ham.
Dome and large city amenities to host are the selling points.
When expansion comes and the Nashville Dome is complete, I'd fully expect a rotational venue and/or a potential full shift to Nashville to centrally locate the game and generally provide a better venue and fan experience.
Atl is garbage.

I concur !
90% of my family lives in Nashville and I have spent half of my life there. It has become a cesspool of crime, and horrid traffic nightmares ! We're there very frequently, unfortunately, and nearly every family member I have there is looking to sell their homes/property this summer and relocate to different areas.
Nashville does have some things to do, if you enjoy paying for overpriced tickets to attend concerts, or if you want to cruise lower Broadway/2nd Ave and watch all the faux cowboys/girls pretend to be "country" while staggering around intoxicated.
Fairgrounds Speedway was one of the best short tracks in America, but the Fair Board, along with the City council has/is doing their best to shut that down and turn the track/facilities into a "green-way" for all the liberal pansy freaks who have inundated the area.
Nashville is quickly becoming little LA, but don't take my word for it, just ask some folks who have lived there for decades. They'll reverberate exactly what I've said.

And Hoover is in Alabama, enough said.

No, move it Starkvegas or Ole Miss, neither will ever be on contention.

Do you really think someone who's been in the conference for under 15 years should really have a say into where the Champ game should be? That's for founding members.
Bet you Kirby would be thrilled to come out and put on a primetime show for the DFW area coaches/talent.

Nashville sucks. I'm not going to pretend that Atlanta is some kind of glorious city, but Nashville is so devoid of character it feels like a Disney take on what "the south" should be.
Thank you. Probably my least favorite city in the United States
At least the whack job cities on the left coast don’t pretend to be something they’re not

Not getting the Nashville hate here. It certainly has some unique aspects. We've been there a few times and it isn't any worse than any other major metropolitan area...certainly not within the SEC footprint.
Again, the geography and capacity are there, so that isn't an issue.
I'm not opposed to moving things around the footprint of the conference, but one must consider the relevant options. What cities offer better options than Nashville?

Cities with the best airports are Atlanta, Nashville, New Orleans, Houston, and Dallas. Pick a rotation within our footprint that has a domed stadium. Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans already have tie ins with the SEC for bowl games.

too bad SAE got their house back. there used to be homeless living in there. would have been a cheap lodging option for bama fans.
Posted on 5/23/23 at 3:45 pm to Wildcat1996
What needs to be rotated is the football game out of that crap hole Atlanta. Period. Just two teams affected by that move. Get it done.

Nashville would be an excellent choice in every way except there is no rv park anywhere near. And I assume that would be a major obstacle.

False. Fairly low crime rate here for a city this size. And certainly not in tourist areas like Atlanta and New Orleans.
