National championships by conference since 2002 (20 years)
Football
SEC 14
ACC 3
B1G 2 (both OSU)
B12 1
PAC 1
Basketball
ACC 9
Big East 6
SEC 3
B12 3
B1G 0
PAC 0
Baseball
SEC 9
PAC 5
B12 2
ACC 1
C USA 1
Big West 1
MtN West 1
B10 0
Pretty fricking pathetic. They have OSU football and that’s it. In all big 3 sports.
Guess if they add enough schools eventually a couple will win something

Media markets. That’s it. The ACC has outperformed the Big Ten in all the major sports on the field and on the court

Put a 0 next to Pac 12 in Football.
2004 USC is Vacated just like LSU’s 2015 Texas Bowl.

PAC is overrated as a baseball conference too. They typically only get one, maybe two, regional hosts per year. The SEC and ACC usually combine for ~12.

They have like half of the US population in their tv markets.

And loyal fanbases that drive views. They're worth a lot of money as a conference.

This is not wrong. And it's pathetic. No offense ACC team fan.

Because national championships don't really move the needle. Brands do. Michigan, Ohio State, USC are S-tier brands.

MSU has more baseball natties in the past 20 years than all of the B1G combined

They’re the 2nd best conference, half the country, and getting stronger.

That's cute.

Because of population density/popularity.
B1G outside of OSU is full of overrated programs that haven't done jack squat the last 30 years.

They out performed them with less money

Because these schools draw huge dollars.

Because they have two programs that are deep into the all-time wins list of college football. Michigan and Ohio St.
Then there's Penn St which is on the top 20 list as well. All three are helmet schools. The media loves winning programs and they have 3.
4 if you count Nebraska. Though Nebraska has been a smoldering dumpster fire, they have rich history

And as much as a dumpster fire as Nebraska has been recently they were still the 15th most watched CFB team last year.

Huge alumni bases and money.

B1G has eyeballs
SEC has product
If you can not understand this, not sure how I can simplify it more.
