sadly, this is the only thing I dislike about being an SEC member(well, that and bama getting BS calls). We don't play near enough cross divisionally.

A 11-2 (6-2) Cotton Bowl Championship season is your benchmark?

Can't blame them for having hope. They have what any team needs to be good. Solid QB, 2 5* backs, good DL. The O-line is still a question and idk about the secondary or wr corps, but you can win 10 games just with the 3 positives I mentioned. Hell Mizzou won the east with less last year.

No, actually winning the SEC and a National Championship is

No, but if that's a year that "sucked" I'll have more of them.

You can't be this dense.

Solid rebuttal. Your football program is irrelevant

We should compare football history between Tenn and aTm. I'd like to see who comes out as "irrelevant".

Kyle Allens first SEC start - wins vs the #3 ranked team on the road.

Has Dobbs even won any significant games besides Vanderbilt and Kentucky?

I think people are ready to see if Sumlin is going to make the changes needed to ascend this program. Need more focus on defense and our running game. So far, he has made some great hires and recruited some great talent.

Arkansas and Auburn I can understand getting the hype, UT I can't. I think people just realize they have been bad for so long they feel its a mathematical certainty to stop being so shitty at some point.

We say the same thing about your overpaid coach.

Your team has been a shitty also-ran for 7 decades.

Yet both of their teams finished the season with the same SEC record

Some teams never get a chance to back their way in to a 2 loss "championship" season.

All you hear is how the Vols are loaded with young talent, why don't they say the same thing about A&M. The Vols have averaged the 10th best recruiting class since Butch has arrived, the Aggies have averaged 9th. The coordinators at A&M are better. They have a better quarterback too. I don't get it. Listening to fans and talking heads, they dismiss A&M and act like Tennessee is on the verge of ruling the SEC.

1)Tennessee plays in the East, and that should be enough, but I'll continue.

2)They already have a strong commitment to the run game (something EVERY conference and national champion needs)

3) What Dobbs did cold off the bench with that young awful OL, several injured WRs, a true freshman RB, and against all power 5 opponents, is what heisman players are made of. Now getting first team reps for the first time in the offseason in his career at Tennessee, he is a legitimate darkhorse heisman contender. I really like Allen, but at very best, he will be equal to Dobbs.

4) Tennessee doesn't have to fix their defense, it just has to gain experience and depth. For comparisons sake;

Total Defense
UT 37 (364.6 yards)
TAMU 104 (450.8 yards)

Scoring Defense
UT 34 (24.2 ppg)
TAMU 77 (28.1 ppg)
