Bama didn’t want to be there.

I’m was merely adding to the goalpost moving that always takes place.
OU doesn’t claim we didn’t want to be there in a loss.
As far as this year at the State Fair, I’m confident it won’t be 49-0, but UT will show up with the better team. Beyond that, who the hell knows what will happen.

Not reading all 6 pages. No old rivalry talk here. Objective opinions. Jimbo was a goofy hire. The rich old men that made that decision just chose wrong. There have been brief moments of hope, but the body of work speaks for itself now. The nay sayers were right and I will comfortably concede to that. I can no longer defend any of this nonsense. Nor will I likely watch any more Aggie games this season. Don’t see the point.
That being said…the book isn’t written on Sark. Both Jimbo and Sumlin beat Alabama as well. Many schools in the conference have in the last 10 years. Doesn’t happen a lot, but it’s not exactly an indicator that we have a dynasty in the making. It means a consistently better program had an uncharacteristically flat outing while the opponent played the game of their lives.
Sure…sark may end up being the next big thing….but they need to do more than beat Alabama once to make that claim.

Wait till he beats Kansas at home in a few weeks before you start talking success.

Well said.
And folks are saying Saban is done. But what I look at is Bama gets everyone’s best game every week no matter how good or bad the opponent is and he has to keep his team focused or they could get beat. He must really love his job.

Jimbo is a cuck, Sark is a drunk.
Drunk > Cuck
Drunk > Cuck

Isn’t sark like 14-12 at Tex-arse?
He beat a pre-dementia Nick Saban who has a RB for a QB and you’d think Sark went 15-0 and won the natty.
And yes he is better than Jimbo but that’s not saying much. You could give Jimbo the NFC Pro Bowl team and he’d maybe beat that Miami team 14-13 on a missed XP.

The best team doesn’t always win that game, as you know.. it’s a coin flip every year, but that’s one reason I love it so much

No arguments from me. Well thought out, and I agree. It’s just one game. The true test will come in the next 4 games.
vs Wyoming
vs Kansas
@ Baylor
Oklahoma (Dallas)
Texas hasn’t started 6-0 since 2009.
We were 5-1 once after losing the opener to Maryland.

Question for All
How many times (in the next 20 years) do you expect your team to make a 12 team playoff?
Posted on 9/13/23 at 11:56 pm to Beessnax
Little early on that prediction, Johnny and Sumlin beat Bama, how did that work out

Jameis Winston is the best freshman quarterback I’ve ever seen by a comfortable margin. Jimbo has financially capitalized on that to an impressive degree.

After watching the Miami game? Zero. I don’t expect us to sniff the playoffs at any point in the next 12 years. Your team, however; I expect to see there at some point in that same time frame. Objective prediction.

Agreed. That was some god awful playcalling from both sides of the ball.
It was clear Miami was blitzing from the corner to disrupt, but left themselves open to big plays. A&M Didn’t capitalize.
On defense, Durkin did very little blitzing and the secondary got picked apart.
I have to see much more from the coaching staff before I’ll expect to win competitive games….
That LSU win last year was fools gold. However, the conference is still wide open with Bama appearing to be down this year.

That’s not a true test at all. Only OU provides somewhat comparable talent across the ball.
But I’m really just here for the Jimbo bashing…
