Wait, the SEC schedule is tough AND I'll learn? You're seriously breaking new ground here! I can't believe there isn't an endless stream of posts on this board making this exact point over and over and over again, day after day after day. This is crazy!

they constantly move the goal posts, just like Aggies do when discussing our series.. get a good handle on that and it will all make more sense

Last week
“When is the last time Texas played in front of 100,000 crazy SEC fans?”

This week
“well BDS isn’t really that loud. Just wait until you play 8 SEC games in a row.”

Strange little bunch.. they are..

Next year
“good lord y’all got an easy schedule.. guess we know that Texas is destroying yet another conference.”

Sark can’t be called successful yet.

The other one is easy: No one is successful at A&M.

Sark winning one game against an unusually down Bama team hasn’t suddenly made Sark or Texas a big success. UTa has sucked for like the past 10-15 years and Sark has been a pretty sucky-below average coach up to this point. They got lucky and caught Bama early in the season before Saban has all the kinks worked out. Hell, didn’t A&M beat Bama in 2021 with their crappy back up QB? And last year the final score of the faggies/Bama game was 24-20 (I just looked it up). And the Aggies had a crappy 5-7 record last year. So, let’s not act like UTa beating Bama has suddenly made them some elite team and Sark a world class coach. They got lucky on Saturday is all that happened.

ETA- Texas really did end up with one of the easiest schedules for 2024. Funny how that worked out…

It was the second game of the season for Texas too... everyone is working out kinks in the first few weeks, including Texas.

You play that game a month from now and the results would have been very different.

Like a broken record. Outside of a couple of great teams every year, 1 of which Texas and OU may not even have to play every year if they're in a different division, what makes the SEC schedule tougher than the Big 12?

TCU, Baylor, Kstate, and Okie State have had some good Coaching staffs through the years, and I'm betting they could have taken it to 2/3rds of the SEC teams and had them in a good dog fight. Patterson, Snyder, Briles, Rhule, Gundy, Leach, etc were/are no joke as coaches and had good long runs at their schools..

Just because A&M made horrible coaching decisions and couldn't compete in the SEC doesn't mean OU and Texas will struggle as bad.

I agree. Texas might have won 49-0.

I thought that's why he hired BobbyP?

Sark has had some epic meltdowns at Texas. Lets see where they end up once the whole season is played.
They may find consistency and prove me wrong, but staying focused has been a huge issue for them.

I think Josh Pate summed this game up the best. This was a “check back” game. Check back towards the end of the season and evaluate. This could have been 2 really good teams in a legit showdown. Or this could be a win over a bad team. Or it could be a win by a team that displayed their best outing against a good team that was trying to figure everything out. Who knows what Texas or Bama will be in Late November.

He inherited a horrible, under developed team at Texas and got them to 8 and 5 last year. I don't think anything he has done so far has been crazy bad..Actually, last year was good to almost impressive...They took BAMA to the wire and blew out OU. All the games they lost were within 1 score...But, this is the year that he needs to show a lot of improvement and they just beat BAMA in their house..I don't see how he has been a disaster so far? The Arky game was the only real embarassment...

He has literally had to recruit and rebuild the Oline from the ground up. No exaggeration, the cupboard was beyond bare when he got there. It was full of dust. The Dline was not much better, just a couple of good under-developed guys that had potential. Texas has completely sucked on both lines for dang near 15 years now. Maybe 3 guys even drafted in that period. No coach in the country could win anything significant with the lines they have had, not even Saban..He has turned them around so far and got some depth there..

Sark gets that extra energy boost from the boogers he eats at halftime.

Jimbo needs to up his game.

Oh that kinda sucks. Since the 04, 05, and I think 07 editions of that game I've always looked forward to it every year. Also watching you guys lose to k-state is a lot of fun.
