Sark winning one game against an unusually down Bama team

Bama was a consensus top 5 team. Then they lost to Sark.

Stop acting like everyone thought they sucked before this game.

I thought they sucked.

Lots of people already thought they sucked.

Good God!

Last year Bama had a Heisman winner/1st player taken in the draft at QB. They had a bad game and still beat you at home.

Milroe ain't even in Bryce Young's shadow. Put Young in that game and you lose again.

Right. Bryce and co. was one bad call away from losing last year to our back up QB.
Bama was never winning on Saturday. We won in the trenches and frankly the score wasn’t indicative of who controlled this game.
But keep screaming down a well.

Sark has 9 full seasons as a HC on his resume.

He has never won 10 or more games.
Won 9 games once.
2-3 Bowl record including losing the Alamo Bowl last season
Never won a division much less a conference title. Best finish was a tie for 2nd place in the Pac 12 South

What is the metric we are using to call Sark successful?

The organization that has one 10 season in the last twelve years?

I think Jimbo would rather hunt..
or maybe he is stupiderester..
or maybe it doesn’t matter..
he gets paid the same amount..
whether he wins or loses

$76 million coming to him..
maybe he is losing on purpose
so they’ll fire him and he can
make even more doubling up
at a new school

To be fair, it's year 3 for Sark at Texas. Jimbo only lost 1 game in his 3rd year at A&M.

Goodness- I just threw up in my mouth.
I had a kid down the street from us that the first time I saw him do that I punched him.
I’ve only been a in a few fights in my life and this was an involuntary reaction to that nastiness.
We were probably about 10-11.

I don't see this mentioned around here, but being an alcoholic is going to limit your ability to build a solid organization top to bottom and be accountable to those who count on you. Saban gave Sark a second chance and we're now seeing the results of a reborn Steve Sarkisian. His trend at TEXAS is a good one.

actually.. on top of sobriety, which I’m sure is helping.. and learning from Saban..

Sark has never lost more games than he lost the previous year at the same school..

2009 UW 5-7
2010 UW 7-6
2011 UW 7-6
2012 UW 7-6
2013 UW 8-4 (left for USC before bowl)

2014 USC 9-4
2015 USC 3-2 (got fired for drinking)

2021 Texas 5-7
2022 Texas 8-5

so maybe he is a slow builder..
but that’s a good sign either way

That's a very glass half full way of looking at this. You could also say that on average Sark loses 5 games a season. His best seasons are two 4 loss campaigns. If that is the norm for the next year or two, how long before the boosters and Austin power brokers get restless?

So Sark is successful now because he beat Bama last week?

OP premise assumes Jimbo or A&M hasn’t beaten Saban before.

Makes no sense.

Any competent coach will do well at Texas in the NIL era. Texas is joining the rest of the pay for play blue bloods now that have already been doing it for years (illegally), and all you crap talkers aren't going to like it because their bags of cash are bigger and better. Beating Bama was just the beginning of the shift that is coming.

Wrong. Trust me, we all know about it when A&M lucks up and wins a game randomly. Y'all have cups and everything.

so using context on Alabama’s QBs is fair game, but pointing out that Texas’ starting qb went down last year doesn’t make a difference?
