Dan Mullen had a 10 win season with the better Sip gig and he left for a much shittier team than LSU.

He left for his dream job ; no one knew bk was going to be fired during the regular season; it’s amounts to bad timing; isn’t sumrall leaving Tulame who is in the playoffs for another team. Only difference is Sumrall was given the green light to continue coaching.

Well for starters when he left Tennessee it was late in the recruiting process and encouraged recruits not to go to class so they could transfer to USC and Orgeron was actively recruiting against Tennessee while still employed by them. Tennessee is absolutely to blame for the hires made afterwards but Kiffin screwed them over. He has essentially admitted as much later in his career. Kiffin screwed Ole Miss over by making their first playoff run about him instead of the team. He could have easily accepted the LSU job after the playoffs. He could have informed both teams of his decision in private without the goofy Saturday decision like he is a high school recruit but he didn’t.

They showed a video of Lane's greatest hits on Game Day, it was impressive how many people he has pissed off. I like Lane, but he is like a hot girlfriend who has cheated on all her other boyfriends, but you think it will be different with you. Good luck.

It is the way he goes about it. Left Tennessee in the middle of the night. Left OM right before a playoff run. The only justice in the world is when USC canned his arrogant arse on the tarmac.

He’s a PoS individual.

They're terrified that the SEC will resurge, and don't want that at all. They thought with Saban retiring and the rest of the conference in decline, they'd gotten past that. All they had to worry about was UGA, and a single team can't carry the conference (unless it was Bama, and even then it wasn't as dominant as the decade before).

That is not a good take imo.

Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, A&M and Vandy all have arguments to be in the playoffs this year. That is a depth that the BIG is nowhere near close to matching.

Agree to disagree. Those teams all have arguments, but only UGA is scary, and to a lesser extent maybe A&M.

Peak SEC had teams as the favorite.

Has any other coach actually done the "family looks at real estate in a city he might be coaching in" thing for real, and done so publicly?

The media says things like, "We want honesty in these coaching searches." Then when LSU/Lane participate in pretty much the most open and transparent search ever, they get roasted for it.

LSU got Lane and avoided the situation Penn State has found themselves in. That's the only thing that matters.

Maybe it gets ugly when it's over. Nobody knows. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
