So is the melting on these boards.

I am. I’m neither melting, calling for billboard campaign nor promoting an FBI investigation. I pointed out a fallacy in the rules. Auburn benefitted from the loophole and that’s fair but it should closed because it allows an unfair advantage.

As far as Nick whining about the substitution... that’s on him - he should expect a guy that runs a gimmick offense to try and beat you with a gimmick - to think otherwise is simply short sighted.

One time a friend of mine used his 5 wood to chip in a birdie and beat me.

It “felt unfair” so he dropped another ball and used a 60 degree wedge and missed the 5 foot par putt.

I always decide what feels fair when I play a game and adjust all rules on the fly.

Remind me again how much time Nicky wanted put back on the clock just before bama's FG attempt in the Kick Six game a only a few yrs ago? Different, yea, as the previous play went out of bounds in that game, but still poetic justice.

Your desire to get “poetic justice” defines your character. Good luck with that.

dont think you should be able to sub on a replay.

That's not really the issue or very realistic. The issue was the review allowed time to get set to snap the ball whether they subbed or not without review they wouldn't have gotten a snap off.

With that said it was absolutely by the rules. When reviews happen the clock starts on the refs signal. Did they catch a break? Yes. Should it be this big of a deal? Nope.

Teams catch breaks on calls during the game all the time, it happens. Dont throw 2 pick sixes and it won't matter. Same as LSU fans crying when a call doesn't go out way. That's life move on.

I don't think any change is necessary. The refs did not handle the play correctly.

Change the rules or pretend there is some Rico conspiracy between a bunch of old drunks and the SEC office.

Maybe we can put up a billboard or call the FBI and find out which is better or worse.

Right? LSU fans cry about legit calls after every single game, but then start threads like this about an actual bad call that was clearly not handled correctly.

My rule would prevent free fg here and allow auburn a play.

Because it's their life. It's why football is getting worse and worse because they need more rules to help "special" players and teams after the fact.

The RB was on the ground with time left. Ignoring it just to get to halftime for Bama would have been not handling the play correctly. Otherwise do away with replay all together.

Did not Alabama call a timeout to get their kick block team on?

It was a live clock situation and you can’t clock the ball with less than 3 seconds on the clock. Sucks but they mishandled it.

Cause they're poor losers. They're also poor winners.

It was also a reviewed played. Teams can do whatever they like during the review. The clock doesn't keep running and the refs have to blow the ball ready for play. Auburn chose to line their FG unit up during the review and snap as soon as the ball was whistled for play. Nothing was mishandled.

They didn't clock it, they ran a play.

Which can be done.

That was my point. I should have written that better (see that Nicky, it’s ok to admit that you aren’t perfect). Nicky not expecting Gus to run a gimmick play is a break down in his coaching. It wasn’t unfair. Just like when little Nicky quick snapped the ball in the LSU game and caught Stingley looking to the sidelines. Bama scored a bullshite touchdown there. Coach O didn’t get on TV crying that it was unfair and looking for a rule change.

But what about the other 99.9999% of reviews that should most definitely allow substitutions after? So if a no catch is overturned the offense can't sub in for short yardage or hell extra points?

It's too wide a rule just to not allow substitutions after reviews.
