LF has a nagging injury, he shouldn't play. So what?

All of this boils down to one thing for ESPN- protecting their investments. They are ALL IN on calling out anyone or anything that calls the bowl system into question, because they pay a LOT of money to show all these games, and have to sell ads to make that back. If players sit out en-masse, people stop watching and the ad revenue dries up.

They don't care why anyone is sitting out. They just care that others decided to do it after Fournette. They aren't going to let that go without an all-out assault on them. But make no mistake about it. It has nothing to do with the integrity of the game or the importance of the bowls. It's about ESPNs bottom line.

I really can't make a judgement on Fournette because he did have an injury for much of the year. Maybe he's still not healed and he did leave his team in good hands with Guice to pick up his slack.
As for McCaffrey, it was a bitch arse move on his part. He was 25% of his team's offensive production and they had no replacement for him. Also, he played the final few games of the year and looked healthy. It was purely a business decision. He was a punk and quit on his team.
I thought Peppers was a better man than to pull what he did tonight. If it was a pulled hammy, why wasn't he on the sidelines with his teammates? Why did he hide in a box? Whose box was it? His new agent's? Those seats aren't cheap or easy to get. You didn't even fake it well.
If this catches on, you might as well cancel all the bowls but the playoffs. It'll be like watching a spring game with mostly freshmen and sophomores playing with the juniors and seniors all "hurt" and watching from the sidelines or from box seats.

Why are you making this so difficult? If you are hurt, you at least there for your teammates. Walking away from the team before the season is finished, is what most people(including me) don't like about it

Thing is you or the other "people" have no clue what is going on between him and his teammates. You have no clue about his injury, you guys don't know shite but you WANT to assume the worst so you can talk negative about him.
You have an opinion and made rules on when a quy is a quitter just so you can feel good about yourself and shite on a young football player.....
Funny thing is why would you even give a shite what a
player on another team is doing other that to talk shite?

Whatever dude. LF quit on your team and used the ankle injury as his excuse.

He didn't play in a meaningless bowl game that makes all kinds of money for everyone except the people competing. And he did it because he doesn't want to blow out his knee and lose a ton of money that he will certainly make in the draft next year.

It's funny to me that all of you morons blame a bunch 20-year-olds for this, yet you would never act any differently in your own lives. You don't have any loyalty to your employer, and they actually pay you.

Fournette

The dude quit after a couple of losses. It's appropriate...LSixU usually packs it in when the going gets tough.

A historically soft program.

It is being talked to death on every ESPN show and Bowl broadcast. They are pumping that message out via all their outlets. That isn't an accident, and it isn't just the anchors trying to be relevant. They are being told to do this.

I guess once you sign with an agent then you can't travel with the team.

I mean I don't know if he's allowed around the team for now.

Given that a major story this season has been pros and former pros practicing with their former college teams, I rather imagine being around them wouldn't be an issue.

Honestly, I don't get why he was in such a hurry to check out, personally. Why not stay with your team through the bowl even if you don't intend to play? You know, just in case. Seems like he made up his mind and took off. I don't consider it a base betrayal or anything, just an odd way to treat his team -- separating himself irrevocably a month early rather than go the distance and wait a mere four weeks or so. I seriously doubt he's getting a major leg up on the combine or the draft by signing with an agent now. It's not like a coaching vacancy where getting in early can be an advantage.

But, as I said, I don't consider it a huge deal, just a puzzling one.

I just think it's funny that it's likely the same people calling him out now that were also suggesting he sit out the whole season.

This. It's a prime example of why I don't watch anything but games on ESPN anymore; that and the politics.
