I accept that as a legitimate excuse. Is Fournette planning on being on the sidelines at the game today? I would expect him to be.

Just wait...the new playoffs have caused these games to mean very little. More players will be sitting out in the future.

How are they more meaningless than when we had the BCS Championship game....#1 verses #2? One of those two teams was going to be the champion and nobody else had a chance.

Like Blake Barnett, LF7 quit on his team. He could have remained part of the team for support and to show he cared about the team, even if he was injured and couldn't play. Instead, LF7 chose to sign with an agent and remove himself as a positive influence on the team.

Remaining with the team and not signing with an agent until January 15 would not affect his draft status.

Hate all you want, but LF7 cares more about LF7 and $$ than he does LSU, LSU football and what it means to you.

According to who? Not even his coach has confirmed this. It is just a commonly repeated excuse by you collective fan base. No doctor's report etc. has said this. It may be a hurt but in the posterior after being shut down at Alabama again. I suggest LSU just STFU about this. It cannot be excused.

If you've had a serious nagging injury all year long I get it but just sitting out due to the perception of getting hurt I don't agree with. There are enough things in life all about me. At some point the team has to matter.

Most of America see it for what it really is. Tiger fans are cool with it though so who cares what they say. He is a selfish quitter but he is your selfish quitter so.....

This could have been handled better by all sides for all athletes and schools and it would not be a discussion. LF and CM could have both dressed if he had not signed with agent that is, dressed and sat on sidelines with an understanding between coach and players that they are not playing. In post game press conf the coaches could have said as a program we decided not to play the players due to nagging injuries unless they were needed.

Why I respect men like Dalvin Cook another projected 1st round pick who show he is all about the team rather then just about Dalvin Cook.

Convenient amnesia, gump. LF7 showed many times that he wasn't all about himself.

Something's been sour about the LSU/LF7 relationship for a while now. I'd like to know the real truth.

Thing is you or the other "people" have no clue what is going on between him and his teammates. You have no clue about his injury, you guys don't know shite but you WANT to assume the worst so you can talk negative about him.
You have an opinion and made rules on when a quy is a quitter just so you can feel good about yourself and shite on a young football player

The OP was about the criticism of McCaffrey and Fournette. If you merely wanted to complement Cook, you would have done so elsewhere. Keep gumping.

Exactly. What Fournette and McCafrey are doing are both despicable.

I don't care how you slice it - injuries, meaningless game, pro future, whatever. These guys accepted a scholarship to play as part of a TEAM. They quit on their TEAM to pursue personal goals before the team had accomplished its own collective yearly goals of winning the bowl game. Even if you are hurt, you ought to be on the sideline helping to encourage and cheer on your teammates at every game.

I don't care how you slice it, both of these men are examples of selfish quitters. And I'd say the same about any Bama (or ANY other team's) player in the same situation. Just my humble opinion. You are welcome to yours if it is different, no problem.
