Wednesday’s camp is in line with Orgeron’s stated objective of trying to work with in-state schools to keep out-of-state schools on the outside as much as possible when it comes to talent-rich Louisiana. That means working to conduct camps with in-state schools while urging them to avoid conducting camps with out-of-state schools like Michigan, in-state schools that generally are not recruiting the same level of player as LSU, the state’s only Power Five conference program.

Orgeron’s stance has drawn criticism nationally from media and out-of-state coaches. Holtz, however, said he is totally on board.

Just rake them all in and then spit out the underprivileged, bad upbringing, ""project"" kids, huh?

Right, but he can only sign so many each year. Those he can't sign would still like a chance to have performed in a camp setting in from of other coaches to show what they can do.

Ed knows his biggest draw is that LSU is the home state school. He can't compete with some schools in other areas, so he wants to keep the focus on the only thing he can - that LSU is the home state school. For some kids that all they need to know and all they care about. For others, it's not enough.

Same reason Saban and Kirby cried about Harbaugh setting up satellite camps

Yes, exactly. Regardless of their ratings they are both studs and Emery knows it. Emery wants to be the feature back which Moorehead can sell better than O.

Agreed. Moorhead and having Barkley's RB coach from PSU on the staff is huge

He’s paranoid, he knows his crappy slogans and busting Red Bull cans on his head isn’t going to last that’s interm stuff. He can’t really sell himself I mean he’s the worst coach in Ole Miss history. So keeping kids out of sight of out of state competition is the only way he can think of to get the players he needs. It will backfire because kids and parents aren’t stupid, if LSU is healthy Louisiana kids go there 95% of the time anyway. He should be making his product more attractive instead of limiting kids options but that would be hard. Ed O doesn’t like the hard way.

Right.

Because recruiting was clearly an issue under the previous coaching staff.

Not that I disagree with anything you said but he should also be trying to limit out of state schools poaching kids away to the best of his ability. That shouldn't be his primary focus though.
