When he was at LSU our kicking game was bad except for Donnie Jones and he was the punter. Miles gets no credit from LSU fans, but he fixed the kicking game of LSU when he arrived at LSU.
We have multiple kickers on scholarship and many times the #1 kicker of the recruiting class.
It's certainly not due to lack of getting quality kickers.

You’re right. Former players have confirmed in interviews that Saban rides their asses so much, it causes them to miss. And when they do miss, he rides them even harder and calls them out in front of the team.
LSU had the same kicking problems when Saban was coach. I remember it always seemed like they couldn’t make shite.

It's always been a valid question. Ever since Saban came to LSU, he's had the best defensive unit, a very strong run game, very strong O Line, very EFFICIENT offense (that hasn't lost him games), with great skill position players that have gone on to do well in the NFL. Across the board, if you came through Saban's system, you were going to be in the top tier.
Except the kicking game. That's been consistently bottom half of P5, at least. Expect a few missed XPs, and forget about being a reliable kicker out to 50 yds, something you'd ask of the "best of the best". Hell, at times a 40 yd kick was a serious question mark.
That's so out of synch with the entire rest of his program, and it's extended through multiple kickers. It does merit discussion.

What's interesting is that publicly and on the sideline Saban treats kickers and punter different than anyone else in the organization. He makes excuses for them, talks them up, pats them on the head.
Honestly I think it's the opposite of what all of you are saying. I think that he treats them in a different way than literally everyone else and it mentally works against them.
Also, we've given scholarships to kickers for years. I dunno what he did 15 years ago at LSU, but he doesn't do that now.

Agreed, to my knowledge he actually has very little interaction with special teams, and I've heard him state in person that he believes kickers can generally only be made worse with his coaching, not better.
