Why is Auburn so unequal of a foe compared to other rivalries?

You’ve got Texas vs. Oklahoma with similar pedigree and championship caliber now that Texas is relevant again! Then you have Ohio State vs. Michigan legendary programs with equal accomplishments, nearly equal Big Ten Championships, Natties and traditional powers! Notre Dame and USC are formidable too yet while in football purgatory are historic programs! Lastly you have Alabama and Auburn. Bama has ruled college football and will always resurface to the top. Most SEC titles and natties, untouched All Americans and the former standard.
Then you have Auburn! Why is Auburn not an equal foe to Bama in terms of accomplishments? Yeah we get the SEC is good and rather watch it over Big Ten Football but why Auburn is so lopsided and average compared to other teams who have amazing rivalries!

Because Auburn is their instate rival similar to Texas and the Aggies. It’s big brother vs little brother.
Bamas rival that is comparable to Texas Oklahoma and michigan Ohio state is Tennessee.
Tennessee is their equal footing historic rival

I think it's probably more accurate to say that Tennessee is our less unequal historic rival.

No program in the country is equal to Alabama. They are #1. It's literally an impossible barrier to clear.

-Tennessee has more wins against Bama than any program
-Tennessee has the longest win streak against bama of any program
-Tennessee has the third most SEC titles, Bama has the most
-Tennessee has the second most college football hall of famers in the SEC, Bama has the most
-Tennessee and Bama have the most top 10 matchups of any sec rivalry
-Tennessee is the third winningest SEC program, Bama is the winningest
-Tennessee vs Bama has more NFL hall of famers, draft picks, and first rounders than the iron bowl
-Tennessee vs Bama has featured more all Americans than the iron bowl
Bama is by far the best program in the SEC but historically TN is their “equal footing” rival especially in comparison to Auburn. Thats just a fact

I would venture to say Auburn has a better winning percentage against UAT than 98% of other programs.
I know Texas and Oklahoma have a winning record over them. Not many other schools do. I think that includes Ohio State.
*And wow. Texas has a huge winning percentage over Bama. Didn't realize that.*

I didn't claim LSU was on equal footing with anyone else, I'm just glad to see all of the natties in my lifetime.

We have very even rivalries like LSU and Auburn in head to head
Some where we are way far behind like Georgia and Miamisome we are ahead surpisingly(Tennessee)
Some we are way ahead - FSU

Exactly. I hope Auburn beats them in everything. Hell I hope every team beats them

The closest football programs to Alabama are Michigan, USC, and Notre Dame and they each have to win a few more titles before they can even remotely argue equality

It could be because Auburn, with all their faults, is not afraid to take on anybody. They pretty much have an extremely tough schedule year in and year out. The teams they have as rivals (Alabama and Georgia) are two of the toughest programs in college the past few years, but they don't back down. When you play tough teams year in and year out your win percentage tends to suffer.
I mean Michigan/Ohio State is 62-52-6 all time, and if you take out the last 20 years, it would be 57-38-6. (One game was vacated from Ohio State for cheating) That seems a bit lopsided, too, so I guess Ohio State can be glad they have done well the last 20 years?

On a national scale outside the SEC yes Alabama is in a realm of their own! In what they’ve done is impressive in their own rights!
