It probably beat the alternative. Lee almost threw more interceptions than completions in his career against Alabama.

That's the damn truth that beating Bama was way bigger & more important to most Lsu fans than beating Clemson for the Natty. They finally got the monkey off their back.As u said the 8game losing streak caused that. U hardly ever hear them bring up beating Clemson.

And there is the typical Alabama arrogance that makes beating Alabama more satisfying than beating Clemson.

996 Florida got a mulligan and it helped them too.

Same with 1959 ole miss. We beat them 10-7 at home in 1959 then lost to them 21-0 in the sugar bowl that year.

That's not arrogance it's the damn truth. When you've Lsu posters that negatively talk about Bama every single day that's joke.Take a break & talk about the other teams in the conference. And if there's any Bama fans that spend their time on here talking about nothing but Lsu their a joke to.Ever since Saban took the Bama job 13 yrs ago it's been this way for some Lsu fans are far as the hatred. It got worse with the losing streak. Time to let go of the bitterness cause y'all got a helluva coach & staff now that we won't beat every yr.

It's not arrogance, it's simple observation. No one would be saying it if the LSU fan base didn't act this way already.

An entire state would rather have PTSD from 2011 than winning a damn NC in 2020

Unbelievable

Other teams need mulligans/outside help/luck to win championships because they aren’t good enough to do it themselves (2007 LSU)

So very true.

Though I will say, your original list has something in common with both teams. LSU not even putting up a fight when it mattered most.

there's no way Okie State was more deserving of a shot even if they hadn't choked. I don't even think that their fans would disagree

Maybe Bama was a better team than OklaLite, but if the Cowboys had finished the season undefeated, and BigXII champs, they SHOULD have gotten to play in the BCS Championship.

In 2006, Michigan probably deserved playing for the BCS Championship, but nobody wanted a rematch of tOSU and Mich, so Florida got the bid.

LSU fans, who readily admit that Bama was better than Oklahoma State, are angry that Bama got in over Oklahoma State

Why does it matter which 11-1 team they played? They had to face somebody in the National championship

I wasn't posting here back then, but the LSU fans I did know said they were glad to play Alabama again, because they had already done it once that year and they would do it again.

Game of the century basically came down to Brad Wing having a career day punting and our kicker being better. Bama's offense was much better than ours even in that game: yalls defense just got caught off guard by that option play a couple of times and of course that Eric Reid pick on the goal line. Less knew that he was lucky af to win that, when they announced the title game rematch he had this deer in the headlights look, like those few brain cells were actually rubbing together and he knew that his "strategy" wouldn't work again.

Not saying you’re lying but the LSU fans you know were dumb as shite

Any sane LSU fan (yeah, yeah) knew we got lucky in Tuscaloosa that year

That year was the reason we have the CFP today. That pissed off so many fans.

On the other side of the bullshite coin, LSU's 2007 NC was almost as cheap.
