You don’t just stroll into Daikin Park and think you’re going to hold on to a 5 run lead late against this group.

Yeah he needs to wear one.
You don’t get to pimp hitting .145 in the 9 hole.

Paredes is an enigma Excellent command of the zone, yet swings out of it early in counts when he has his best opportunities to produce
Although I had no actual hope of a comeback, I still had the game on in the background.
Paredes was the last out and did exactly what you stated with runners on base. Swung at the first two pitches..one very low and the other very low and very inside.

shite three days ago Espada’s dumb arse had Abreu pitching in a one run game in the 8th.
That one still kills me. Put the reliever in that has the least control vs the team that chases less than any team in MLB.

the championship game was not double elimination
It was double elim through the whole tourney from 1950 until 1988. I think that’s when CBS started televising the final and they wanted a winner take all situation.
As soon as ESPN took it back over they went back to the double elim/3 game series we have now.

Man I wish.
Hasn’t been the same, even before this current injury.
Garcia was never the same. Took him over two years and he blew his arm out again almost immediately.
Meanwhile G Cole comes back from his TJ surgery in 14 mos and is lights out through two starts. Gotta love our medical and training staff!

Working around the NFL schedule.
It’s 100% this. The 17 game schedule and the Monday night wild card game have played into the CFB playoff and bowl schedule for the last few years now.
The Sugar Bowl following the 2022 season was moved to NYE because the NFL had a regular season Monday Night game scheduled on Jan 2. (Ended up being the Damar Hamlin game)
It the CFB playoff is centered around NYD and they insist on having the title game on a Monday night, these scheduling issues will continue to happen because they are boxing themselves in with these dates. Don’t get me wrong, I love the New Year’s Day format, but doing that will always put them at the mercy of the NFL.

Something tells me he will be okay
Oh I agree…I was just a bit shocked at how bad he looked. Could just be a matter of trying to do too much or not seeing the ball well out of that particular pitcher’s hand.

Anecdotal thought…I know this is an odd thing to say after the week Yordan had and I’m certainly not pushing any panic buttons, but those two ABs against Megill over the weekend were…disturbing. I know Megill’s a badass and sometimes the pitcher wins. But Yed was just blown away. I mean not even competitive. And except for one pitch, all fastballs.
