Do you really want to play UK and Vandy more often? I wish we could drop ole miss, msu, vandy and UK and just play everyone every year.

We want to play everyone. I like going to Athens. I like going to Knoxville. I like going to Columbia and, trips to Lexington and Nashville have their really great points too. Also, now we have to worry about playing in the other Columbia.

the schedule as compared to other schedules. its science

But since there has been competitive inequality in scheduling over all the years, how can you really know and compare?

And I like going to Baton Rouge and Auburn, but this is the situation we find ourselves in with conference expansion. I just don't think it's worth it to sweep all that tradition to the side.

Part of the deal for everyone to agree to expansion back in 1992 was that Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia were promised they would get to keep their rivalries using a cross divisional format. That is still the case today and is not going to change. It's an 11-3 vote right now with only LSU, USC and aTm opposing.

In all honesty it doesn't matter that much because we're going to 16 teams sooner rather than later and at that point we're going to have to figure something out. I'm glad the administration is fighting the good fight but at the end of the day we have bigger fish to fry.

This is a 14 team conference that only plays 8 games. The schedules are never going to be close to balanced.

A-frickin'-men...You can’t predict where some programs will be in 5-10 years. Look at UF. Who would have thought they would be where they are now after their dominating 1990's thru mid-late 2000s runs? 10 years ago you wouldn’t have guessed that UTk would be where they are now either. Two traditional powers in a down period. Nothing new. Bama was irrelevant in the early 2000s and now have 2 championships in 3 years...

These games all mean something despite who you’re playing. You’ve still gotta play and you’ve still gotta win. If you want to avoid playing the teams that endanger your chances of winning a championship, why the Hell are you playing the sport in the first place?

If LSU continues to do pretty well and Sumlin does as good a job at A&M as I think he will, I think these two will settle into a very natural rivalry

I think so as well. In another 15 yrs or so, your young folk will understand a rivalry and won't be so eager to let it go.

I don't know. All of those teams had different opponents than the other teams. That isn't fair and you can't tell who was actually good to be able to tell who had the tougher schedule.

Sorry sir, I'm not convinced you are licensed to practice science.

This may be the ONLY time a Tenn fan will say this and WON'T get a smartass comment from me about it.

Glad you're taking a Texas style approach to this, instead of agreeing with the logic in no permanents.

My solution is a 9 game schedule with a 6-2-1 format. It is what the fans want and we need it for legitimacy now that the other Big 4 conferences are going 9 game.

Only scheduling Florida is competitive inequality. Everyone else they beat is kings of the world.

I agree. And this is what I think will happen when we inevitably go to 16.

Only thing that makes since with 14 teams. That, or kick A&M and Mizzou out and return to normal.

by pushing to deliberately play Vandy as much as possible Godamnit you people still just don't get it. Under a rotational system, we would still play one of the "big" teams in the spot we currently play Florida every year. There would never be a year when we would have Vandy and UK as our two East opponents and I wouldn't want that.

The logic I used was identical to what you used in your inane original post where you asserted that Alabama's actions had nothing to do with its 100 year old rival and everything to do with avoiding an east team it would play less than one out of every three years. It appears as though you do not get it.
