Only we were talking about 1990.
No, we were talking about the general state of each program and that the previous poster claimed that Tennessee was MUCH greater than UF at the time.
All I did was state facts that UF had the best record in the SEC in 1990 and 1991 and trailed UT by one game in the overall standings in the 1980's.

I actually see the value in having big games like Florida every year and I'm not anxious to see that game go away. I just think Bama fans who are calling us pussies when they did nothing but bitch about bye weeks are completely full of shite and need to be called out on it.

Tradition and prior to, let's say 2007, Alabama was coached by a bunch of stiffs during UT's golden age. From 95-04 they beat you once. If you go to 2007 they beat you twice. It wasn't a disadvantage. UT just couldn't get by the Gators for the most part. So during the time you played them as a permanent opponent, UT was up UA was down and you got tradition/rivalry surplus from it. That argument is stupid. You made the rules and are bragging about not complaining about them.
Bama is now coached by one of the best college coaches in the nation, and I still don't see one UT fan complaining about it.

I was talking about 1990, then. But I'm often talking to myself, so you can disregard that if you wish.

I gotta hand it to the Vols. They at least take their beatings like men. The corndogs however bitch endlessly about referees, scheduling fairness, and how it was bullshite that we were even in the game to begin with.
Oh yeah, Vols are so noble. Turned in Alabama put them on probation. Certainly took their recruiting battles in stride. To Bama's credit, they aren't much better, threatening to serve Fulmer with process at SEC Media Days. Everyone has an agenda. :DWI:

Backtracking now. You're trying to bring up 2 year old stuff to the argument and now taking a different stance.

LSU helped make those rules as well. UT has the "chest" to continue even when the rules they agreed to do not benefit them.

What's our agenda? Are we playing Alabama every year in the hopes that, when they come to Knoxville, we can lure an unsuspecting Nick Saban into a makeshift BDSM dungeon under the false guise of delicious pancakes, quickly snap a picture, and bring Alabama to its knees again?

Doesn't the 9 game schedule screw up the number of home games that teams have in a year while also making it tough for teams like UGA, USCe, and Florida to play anyone else OOC?
Yes and yes, if they went to 9 games someone else would bitch about getting less home games than the others. There are too many teams that have a permanant OOC game, whereas they would vote to veto a 9 game.
Really the only way a 9 game would work is get rid of conference champs and play 13 games for the regular season. This would also help with the bitching about playing an extra game(championship) before the postseason. The problem is deciding the conference championship

Can't you see that this is part of the reason why this rivalry is so heated. Hell, all that shite was BECAUSE the rivalry is so heated. And then it only served to make it more so.
Why on earth would we want to give up a rivalry that strong just because you dont wanna frickin man up and play Florida every year?

You guys do a pretty good job revising the history of SEC expansion.

My point exactly. You don't care about fairness so bragging about the fact that UT is getting the stuffing beaten out of them because they have Dooley now isn't a legitimate talking point. You want to play this game. You want these rules. As I said before, OF COURSE you don't have a problem with it. It is your system for better or worse.

Sigh. Cotton, cotton, cotton.
Everyone is seeing it. They anger, changing to crying, changing to defiance, then to realization that your argument is wrong and childish. The only option now is to quit posting in this thread, or admit you were wrong from the get go.
