They only have two sec losses and one bracketology had them as a 10 seed
Was their non conf that bad?

Yes, we had a couple of App st type of losses early on in the season that set the team back. Good to see them playing out of it, but has certainly hurt their rankings.

We had an abysmal non-conference. Lost to Wofford at home who is Q4. Murray State is a Q4 loss too. A mediocre Colorado squad boatraced us.

Yes, they lost 5 games and 2 were Quad 4. They went 0-3 against their 3 Quad1/2 OOC games. And only played 1 Quad 3 OOC game (which they did win)

Thats a big hole to dig out of (which theyve done, but only to be on the right side of the bubble for now).

The end of season schedule will make or break the Aggies IMO.

@Missouri
UT
@MSU
@Miss
Bama

That’s a pretty tough but manageable stretch with the two hardest remaining games at home.

They can either win an SEC title or watch their bubble burst in the next 5 games, it’s not something you see very often.

And the SEC schedule isn't helping much.

We were one of the worst teams before conference play.

LSU hired the wrong Murray State coach.

Also may have hired the wrong Notre Dame coach.

Think we need to split @msst/@mizzou and Bama/Tennessee with a win @miss to feel comfortable.

Pulling out Arkansas on Wednesday was big

I think that the NCAA clarified a few years ago that all games are weighed equally no matter if they’re early or late season, so the horrific non conference is probably holding them back.

Personally, I think that conference games should be weighted more. I think that teams that started slow and improved should be rewarded a bit.

In any case, if A&M is seeded low because of their slow start, then that means they’ll be a low seed to watch out for in the tournament. They’re playing great basketball right now and could beat almost anybody on a good day. I’d personally have them a bit higher than where they’ll probably end up.

Because non-conference we lost to a couple of junior colleges and a prep school.

I think that we will reach the tournament, and our late-season play can speak for itself.

Personally, I am more annoyed that no one is projecting us to reach the CWS, after last year's performance.

For some reason Buzz William’s A&M
teams have always seemed to start out slowly while he figures out the team. 2022 was the same. And then Buzz and the Aggies can’t get any tournament chops. We have a very tough 5 games to go. But, when any team has a chance to control their own destiny to a championship, that’s something special in its own right. Would anyone have believed prior to the season that A&M would sweep LSU, Auburn and split with Arkansas with a chance to win the SEC championship?

Terrible non conference losses. Ags need to finish SEC 3-2 or better. Lose to Bama, Tenner, and maybe LSU it is going to be a last 4 in situation. Lose first game of SEC tournament and a case can be made for us to be out of NCAA tourney.

Had another Ag laugh at my same post a few days ago but this is the reality.

Umm, we swept LSU in basketball. So losing to them in the regular season will be a difficult task.
