It would have to be a big job like LSU. Being defensive minded probably makes schools like USC not really consider him too much since he isn't winning most big conference games.

LSU fans, how would you feel about him?
He’s not the “big name” or “splash” hire that many are wanting, but he’s Solid IMO
Solid is what LSU needs and I’d be happy with it.

He could taken a step down and left for Auburn.
Taterboy was their first target all along….

Yeah but some people aspire to be more than …. Kentucky football. No offense.
I think Auburn went to like their 5th choice to hire the Idaho coach.

Another great decision by the FSU admin was having Mark as a 2nd choice to Bob. I can't blame Mark one bit for saying frick y'all

Mark would be a good hire at Iowa but I doubt Kentucky would let themselves be outbidded.

I'd take him for sure - he has done a great job.
Personally, I don't blame him for getting paid a good check, winning 8-10 games a year without tons of pressure or super high expectations, and still being a part of a great conference.
It's worked out for guys like Bill Snyder, Pat Fitzgerald, Mark Dantnio, etc.

A major program has scooped him up
Anyways his style of play could pass at Kentucky but not one of the blue bloods IMO. It’s enough to compete with most teams outside of UGA, Bama etc.

But if he goes to a bigger school, there’s going to be much higher expectations. He stays at Kentucky and wins 7-8 games per year with the occasional 10 win ranked season, and he gets a lifetime contract. That’d get him fired at LSU or some other bigger name school.

He has it made at UK....makes over $5 million a year plus bonuses, has great facilities with potential to further progress the program

They have tried, and they have failed.

The only non-SEC school I fear is Iowa. Their program is very similar to ours and is operating very smoothly. Their fans are a lot like ours, too. If Ferentz steps down while Iowa is good, Stoops might be lured away.
Almost all SEC schools are high pressure. Maybe only Vandy and UK aren’t. I can’t see any other SEC liking Stoops’ style.
