Because most of these players are chasing money and couldn’t care less about the university, History, status, etc mean nothing to them, nor does loyalty.

I hate it but that’s the new reality.

High school recruiting is dead dude. They all leave after their freshman year for a bigger bag

I don’t see anything different from the work force. Just because there’s a possibility to make more, people don’t quit or leave for slightly more money considering it’s a lateral move. Now if it’s considerably higher than yes they likely go for it or a promotion which I guess in this case would be starter or more minutes. All I’m saying is that it’s not that clear cut: everyone leaves for more money. Uncertainty plays a big part of people staying and yes relationships still matter as they should.

At the end of the day ask yourself if you can get more money somewhere else and if so why aren’t you applying to get your bag.

And sorry I can’t get hyped about Sam leavitt coming off an injury.

Question.... who's the QB playing for a natty, that was injured last year? Injuries happen.

You might not be able to get hyped about it but I bet you'll be watching.

They don't understand that. They think 50 3-stars is better than thirty five 4 and 5-stars.

Weird because between HS and transfers

Bama signed 5 - 5*, 13 - 4*, 17 - 3*

LSU signed 3 - 5*, 21 - 4*, 21 - 3*

I don’t see much of a difference. But you seem more intelligent, so maybe I’m wrong.

Also, Indiana is still playing and Alabama isn’t. But again, it’s an “intelligence thing”.

Well that explains it.

That’s what Dabo said.

I will 100% be watching. I also think my fears are a little justified, he wasn’t our first choice, and he looked like a deer in headlights against Miss State. He isn’t used to playing in a SEC environment, the Big 12 is not the same

That didn't happen to Alabama. I think we had 1 freshman leave, and he was a 3 star who ended up at Vandy. We had 2 other guys who DeBoer got from the portal leave. Horton was a starter, he was decent but not worth more.

Otherwise we dropped guys recruited by Saban that had mostly been passed up by newer guys. 1 or 2 of them might have been starters or backups, but thus far hadn't produced really and were playing backup roles.

Paying too much for a HS recruit can certainly be an issue. I think they need to change the rankings from being potential based to being production based. AKA what is their expected production next year. Is that guy a 5 star because he's raw and will be good in 3 years, or is he a 5 star guy who's going to play like he's ready for the NFL right out of the gate the way you can maybe get from a 5th year senior 3 star out of HS transfer?

I mean if you gotta recruit your team and everything else every single year to get to them to resign, then the model probably needs to change with that in mind.

Neither was Chambliss and yeah, he turned out just fine.

Beck was the QB of a playoff team who got injured in the SECCG.

He can be fooled and doesn't always see the field well which leads to making bad decisions/throws, but overall he already proved himself to be that caliber of a QB before he transferred.

I have no idea how good Leavitt will be, but that's not really a good comparison.

Not trying to compare them, because I've never watched Leavitt play. I'm only saying that a QB can come back from an injury and be fine.

Only Leavitt I ever saw play was my Leavitt Bulldog... RIP big fella!
