It's most likely 70-75% pro-UA in the state of Alabama.
I could not have said it better myself, all states that have state schools have the biggest fan bases except for maybe 2 i.e. USC and ND.

Actually, this study says Auburn has more fans than Alabama....

I would assume the reasoning is that Auburn is more national than Bama, relatively-speaking. Which makes sense.

UA is a state school and therefore has more fans that follow it.
Auburn was more successful early on in football than UA was, the 1913 and 1914 teams were undefeated and was considered the best team at the time in the south. It wasn't until the 1920s UA came into the picture in football in any strong way.
