Why does the south have more big, strong, fast D linemen than everywhere else?

Was listening to some show on Sirius XM the other day in the car, and some dude was talking about the Pac 12, Big 12 and most of the Big 10 being at a "geographical disadvantage" because they simply don't have the defensive linemen that we have in the south. He never actually explained why that is.
Is there some reason that California, with all those millions of people, can't turn out a few good defensive tackles?
I think we know why, but I'm not sure we can have an honest conversation about it.

More black kids. Let's just be honest.

Breeding? I know that is sensitive and will offend most but isn’t that what you are looking for?

That’s stupid. No one is breeding defensive linemen. The other poster got it right. There are more black kids down south.

Best recent D lineman from my state, Florida, were the bosa brothers

That what I was going for but obviously I’m stupid. So carry on.

Blacks in the south were bred to get stronger slaves.
This is common knowledge.

Partially correct but not the entire story
In the Deep South not only do you have more Black kids, but the real reason for more fast DLs is almost all Black kids play tons of basketball , both organized and pickup games, when the tall kids outgrow basketball and get upwards of 270lbs the HS FB coach finds them and gets them to play DL or OT
OTOH many white kids play baseball, a Sport that requires a lot less running & explosion vs basketball so when the white kids "outgrow" baseball and get upwards of 270lbs the HS FB coach finds an athlete that is a little less mobile than the same size Black kid that outgrew basketball
IMO, it's more about environment and choices rather than ethnicity

Their Dad was an NFL player, maybe a LB or DE , so maybe the Bosas aren't the best example

The climate and diet of most Northerners tends to promote increased storage of fat during the winter. There are plenty of Blacks in New York and Illinois and Ohio- probably as many as are in the South. But you will notice steep drop off in SEC caliber DL types north of the Mason Dixon line.
In short the Southern climate leads to less adipose tissue development (among active people of course) than that of colder climates.

The same reason Arkansas and Kentucky are at a "demographic disadvantage" for cfb players, but Mississippi isn't.

Look at that map and you'll see part of the reason why Arkansas is like two completely different states if you draw a line from Texarkana to the Missouri Bootheel.
