Why does Tennessee suck so much at baseball?

Everything about their program blows, it seems.
Their talent is always mediocre at best, stadium is never full, even their uniforms are so cheesy.
Do UT fans think this new coach can turn them around? Or they a lost cause?

We have good talent. Our team was really young we were playing quite a few freshman this year. Serrano is a proven coach who can recruit and I am sure he will right the ship. By the way I like the uniforms.

Yeah. I basically agree with all this, except y'all have got to recruit some new pitchers ASAP.

Pitching is terrible. We have all of the position players coming back next year, including 2 guys who hit around .350 and then 3 freshmen who played all year whom hit .310, .290, and .283, plus another guy whom hit .321.
Serrano's son, Kyle is a top 25 MLB prospect who will be drafted high. He has got to get him to enroll in school this fall because Dave the coach has been burned by the MLB draft so far with a few pitcher whom would have made a big difference this year.
He chose to go really young this year so that's on him. Next year is a big year for Serrano to show improvement. They should be better and there is some good high school talent in Tennessee.

It's interesting to me that a lot of folks in East Tn don't really care for baseball. I grew up loving it.
I think they'll be a player in the east in the next few years. Don't think they'll win it, but should be much more competitive. I think Serrano will get it done. The program was in terrible shape when he took over.
Tn has pretty decent baseball talent, so if they can sign some of the better ones, they'll be fine. I do agree that some of the unis are hideous, though.

i agree. i lived in tennessee many years and my son played high school and college ball in the state. delmonico had it going for awhile but it seems that the program just can't get going. i'm gonna say recruiting but i'm speculating. i haven't been to a game in about 10 years but the park was very small and kind jucoish back then. i think it will only take some winning to jump start the program and yes, pitching is always a problem. ut needs to get them some sec level pitching. vandy did.
