There was a genuine effort to continue the rivalry when we joined. They said no. Do you expect and want us to go hat in hand on an annual basis and try to do so?
Stop obsessing about our rivalry game. I have little doubt it will eventually start up again.

And their song is all about making fun of one of our yells. But like I said, doesn't matter. These are over 100 years old from a situation that is immensly different from today

Does calling Texas Varsity make A&M Junior Varsity?
I feel like chanting that when you're playing anyone but Texas is like saying winning any game gets you closer to being like the big brother school. Like, honestly, even if I loved the hell out of A&M, went to school there, whatever, I'd be embarrassed as shite when we did that chant.

I personally am not that concerned about whether A&M and Texas play, but it is conversation fodder. As I've stated, I understand the rationale for A&M declining to play if it ultimately comes to that.

Quick Google shows that the song was written less than a hundred years ago. Sounds like the song needs an updating though.
Maybe change it to talk about the Razorbacks tusks and sawing them off.

Except we are not the ones who have ever declined to play. Please show me proof of one of our admins or BOR or anyone who matters at TAMU saying this.
Because I can give you - and have given you - evidence of the Texas AD flat out saying he did not want to play us because "they left."

As I've said, the bowl not extending the invite to TAMU will be pretty compelling evidence. Absent TAMU being offered and declining, which is the situation they went to the SEC to avoid, I can't see something being more definitive.

The point was, bama didn't take it out even long after the situation totally changed. It was their fight song and they weren't going to frick with it. Why would we? And why should they?

Well that's kind of a no win situation don't you think? Since the biggest hack in all of college sports made an article about how the SEC will make sure a&m and LSU don't play Texas in the Texas bowl, if we don't end up there, it proves his report true no matter what?

The Texas Bowl is new to the SEC. It isn't as if they are somehow allotted the first pick. I think TAMU will go to either the Texas bowl, the Belk bowl, or the Independence bowl. And I think TAMU would be fine playing any and all of those.
