Why does TAMU not want play Texas in a bowl?

I get joining the SEC for TAMU. Great move there but why turn around and throw away a great rivalry game in the process? I have read this morning that TAMU is refusing a bowl match up with Texas, therefore LSU may be heading to Houston as result. The A&M Texas rivalry was one of the greatest in the country and you guys just pissed it away. On top of that you sound like a big vagina not being willing to play them at all under any circumstances. I could understand not wanting a bowl match up if you played during the regular season. What I don't get is why you are letting Texas punk you out like this? LSU is going to have to show you how it is done in Texas. Smart move letting LSU come to Texas to recruit during bowl season. You should be more concerned with locking down your own backyard. I would think LSU is a threat for many of your top prospects. By playing UT in Houston TAMU could do a world of good for their in state recuiting.

A&M is a strange program. They do things that make zero sense. Don't try to understand their ways....

If I was the aggies I would be dying to play texas in a bowl this year. A&M could beat the longhorns this year and maybe that would be the kickstart to them playing each other again.

and increase their share in Texas recruiting. If I was Texas, I wouldn't play the Aggies. How about that?

They don't want to risk the recruiting edge it could give Texas if they were to win. Other than that they are still butthurt over all the little brother stuff.
Basically, they are a skeered and whiny.

Texas winning is simply too big of a risk. It would ruin the whole #WRTS illusion. 7-6 and a loss to UT would be pretty devastating for A&M.

i could see why Texas wouldn't want to play the aggies, but I don't understand why the ags don't want to play UT.

Because if they'd play Texas they would probably lose and they can't have that happen.

I don't get it either.
Beating the Whorns would be icing on an otherwise "meh" season.

Sheesh, Chip Brown makes an off-the-wall tweet several weeks ago and it just grows and grows.
"There is no truth to reports that Texas A&M will join the SEC in the spring of 2012. None." -- Chip Brown

On the contrary I'd love to play 'em in a bowl game and every year. (Cue the young Aggies telling me I'm old and irrelevant.

The weird thing about the story is the nut who got the ball rolling never mentioned that A&M had anything to do with this. But that's now the narrative.

Here's the deal:
This is all very transparent. It's so obvious, a blind man could see it. Texas desperately wants and needs to play A&M. It's why they convince their lackey Chip Brown to write stories designed to make A&M look scared to play Texas; they are hoping to put public pressure on A&M to play them. Why are they so desperate to play A&M?
Because they are getting their arse kicked (consistently) on the recruiting trail. If this continues, they will soon find themselves with a significantly less talented roster than the one in College Station. A&M, rather than Texas, has become to landed ground for most of the state's top talent. Their only chance to stem the tide is to play and beat A&M.
A&M, on the other hand, has very little to gain by playing Texas. Why risk overturning the current applecart?
Yes, we've been a mediocre SEC West team the last two years, but we're slowly building a more talented roster than we've ever had. Losing to Texas could potentially change the recruiting dynamic, while beating them just keeps things the same. Nothing to gain.

You're right.
Series record
Texas leads, 76–37–5
A&M looks like a big wuss in this situation. They could easily curb stomp Texas this year and have bragging rights for the foreseeable future.

What would you expect from a bunch of male cheerleaders? They'd rather play with their nuts and sing songs than play their rival in football

Between that and a&m not viewing them as one

Two related questions:
1) Why is Texas so desperate to play A&M?
2) Why are rantards so desperate for A&M to agree to the pleas from Texas?
