As a Bama fan LSU has always had top tier talent and with Miles your knew exactly what you were going to get. An NFL D and an O that was going to try to run right over you.

Aggy fans are funny. They hang their hat on beating Bama in 2012 yet at the same time try to put down LSU for looking up to Bama. It makes no sense. Like you talk shite on the own pedestal that you stand on.

A&M literally has one win vs a team they shouldn't have beat during their whole tenure in the SEC. That team is Bama.

What has been the CBS prime time game every year since '11 ? LSU has been the only program able to physically match up with Bama consistently since '08, except for UF in '08 & '09. Yes, there is the 8 of 10 and 6 in a row, but LSU has always played like a man and could have easily won 2 of those. The others were not blowouts, even the 21-0 and 38-17. 3 OT games in that period.

Aranda is great and Canada is good, but the HC does matter, especially in the long run. But more importantly, Les didn't leave you the talent that you've had in the past. Frankly, as another Bama poster said, this year is the first time in Saban's run that I have little concern about this game. It's sad, but LSU will likely be back soon. Even a win this year is not outside the realm of possibility, but I would be shocked.

I can say that since '08 the coaches, players and fans have regarded LSU as their main rival, and not because of the Saban/LSU connection.

During their rise starting in 2000 Bama was down and LSU became top dog in the SEC West. Florida was even at top in the East, and they play every year. But no matter how many games LSU won, the SEC was still "Bama's conference" and no one forgot the history of Alabama. When Nick Saban, the coach that brought LSU to the national spotlight, came back to be Alabama's coach things got tense. When Alabama won a National Title with Saban, it was a surefire rivalry. Then 2011 happened. From the preseason to 11/5 everyone knew these two were the best in the SEC. They weren't just the two best teams that season, they were two of the best teams of the BCS Era. And they collided. The truth is, no matter who lost that game, as long as they won out a rematch was happening. That was being hyped WEEKS before the game was even played.

Then LSU won in OT. There was a controversial call, there were no TDs, and a lot of people legitimately believed Bama had beaten themselves. That was the ultimate disrespect. After the decade LSU had they never could escape from the Crimson Shadow. Then they lost 21-0 in their home away from home for the National Championship. Since then LSU hasn't been the same.

That's why ever year LSU fans on here get all riled up for the Alabama game. Because even when they were running the West, they never got the respect they did indeed deserve. And when they won the "Game of the Century", most de-legitimized it. Now Bama has run through them ever since to create arguably the greatest dynasty in CFB history. And they've done it with Nick Saban, the coach that rose LSU from the ashes only to leave for the NFL, then return and bring about the end of LSU's run.
