The team responds to Gunner better than they did to Beck

This certainly seems to be the case. Dude took a massive hit to the head and jumped right up. He seemed to inspire the rest of the team the minute he walked on the field.
He'll need to avoid dumb mistakes like that horrible interception, but Stockton seems to be the real deal.

The bigger question is, with all that money TX spent why couldn’t they beat the only good team they played? Twice.

The reality (which is kind of funny) is Stockton is actually the most talented QB UGA has started since JT Daniels was replaced by Stetson Bennett.

Bennett's highest composite ranking from 247 was a .8337 (this was when he came back to UGA as a JuCo Transfer... he was lower as a HS recruit).

Beck was a .9095 (#254 overall player in his class)

Stockton was a .9506 (#124 overall player in his class)

UGA has lost experience with the injury to Beck. They haven't really lost ability. All of their other QB's are actually rated as being more talented.

Rashada is at .9623. #81 player in his class.
Pugilisi is .9487. #114 in his class.

The hit with experience may end up costing UGA in the playoff. But UGA has a talented QB room and it's not like they're throwing a scrub on the field.

Because he comes from a family with 2 NFL HOF QB’s…and possibly 3 with Eli getting in. Not to mention, they’ve all acknowledged he’s the most athletic. Don’t act like Stockton is on same tier because he played well for 1 1/2 quarters. Georgia didn’t ask him to do a lot.

I’d be shocked if he doesn’t have several freshman moments that cost Georgia in playoffs once teams get a better focus on him.

"Why does Sark act like Ewers is?" should be your question.

14 is to 13 as 15 is to 12 - Stockton plays the position much like Bennett - with the ability to escape a pocket - the other two not so much -

it helps to be able to escape at times in Bobo's long developing play-action shots down field -

Son, there's not going to be film on him. Gunner was given the "First, do no harm" playbook in the SECCG. Although he's now getting reps with the first team, Kirby (and expecially Bobo) will not deviate from that plan too much.

True. We beat y'all in Austin so asking him to help do it again in Atlanta wasn't much.

Stetson Bennett was a very good college QB, not great, and Carson Beck is arguably slightly better than Bennett.

Beck has better NFL upside and a better arm. In no universe is he a better QB than Stetson was in college.
