re: Why do people think that Alabama does not have NIL money?

If all you’re buying is chargers, that’s not too much money.

When you’re competing for the top tier, 5 star players that are the difference in winning big games, bamma will lose every time against Texas, Oregon, OSU, TAMU.
They will split against FL, UGA, Auburn, LSU, Old Miss, TT and a dozen others.
This isn’t 2012 anymore, where bamma was the only program throwing out big cash and getting anyone they want. Players and their families today want cash and no one gives a schitt about your tudish talk.

It’s just like Saban said, “give all that money to the wrong players and you’ll be shite outta luck”
They are doing like A&M did a few seasons ago…buying players instead of building a team.

Recruiting will drop if the ship isn't righted. Programs that develop talent like Bama under Saban, Ohio State, Georgia, etc, don't have to drop as much on high school recruits because they put a ton of players in the NFL. If I'm a blue chip recruit and one of those schools offers 500k with a shot at being developed into a first round pick I'm taking that over higher offers from schools that don't have that track record.
You might do that.
The kid being offered $5K more to sign with Texas Tech is saying “f&@k those bamma people they dissin me”

Except your analogy is wrong. In the current ranking for recruiting Alabama is right there. On par with them or ahead like OSU. Also only Oregon can currently match them for the number of 5 stars committed.
Some of you look up things before posting.
UGA btw is ahead all the programs you mentioned.

Best I could find, but really didn't look for long.
Top 50 NIL schools
At the start of last season, Bama was ranked 12th.

Are all offers in? Nope
So commit all you want. Those people will jump the first time FL or TAMU or Oregon offer 5K more.
It’s your new reality. There was a time when you were the only one standing at the door when Black Friday began, now it’s a riot

They shouldn't have got caught up in the moment of him winning with a couple great players and hired him.
They didn't. Alabama took the best option available at the time. Yes they were other coaches out there better than DeBoer but the issue is who wants to follow Saban.
My opinion is DeBoer is on a short leash right now. If this direction continues my guess is by October behind the scenes conversations will be had on who will replace him. With recruiting the way it is now you cannot wait to go looking for a new coach after the season.

Yes it is Alabama football. You are what you do. Not what you wanna do.
And right now this IS Alabama football. Embrace reality.
Because accepting that is the first step to changing it.

Again, research before posting because the 2025 we finished 3rd with only Texas and UGA ahead of us.

Alabama has not gone anywhere, and the reality is the same programs each year are finishing near the top of recruiting in the new NIL era just like before the NIL was a thing. The only thing different is maybe a few programs like a Colorado or next year TTech make a little splash but NIL has not changed a thing for the top programs including Alabama.

NIL money is not the issue at Alabama, it’s a head coach who has no idea what he’s doing.

bamma for the past decade has beat people with superior talent, most often on the DL and at CB. There’s a long line of CBs in the NFL who helped them win games.
There’s best player in the state last year - the kind of player you would normally use to make sure you beat an FSU on the road - was 50 miles from Tuscaloosa, and he chose Oregon.
You can push and pull and twist all you want, but players now have a lot of options for cash, and as soon as someone offers more - see Caleb Downs, or Sayin - those great classes fall apart.
People are trying to help you down into that wheel chair. You should appreciate the help.

Nil isn’t the problem. 2023 #1 2024 #2 2025 #3 and is currently #5 for 2026. Team talent rankings they are #1. They have the Jimmie’s and joe’s just not the X’s and O’s.

Where are those studs from 2023 and 2024 playing?

Ya gotta buy these players more than a charger these days... Bama is cooked

In essence, Bama is nothing without Saban
Saban left Bama primarily because of the 15 year Learfield contract.
Some know-it-all administrator stuffed his own pockets in spite of Saban's objections.
Any new Alabama coach is going to have to deal with the same set of handcuffs for the next decade.
And all of you Alabama fans will deny that there is truth to this issue.

I love that the SECtards are (and will always be) convinced Alabama had to pay players under Saban when in reality we were self reporting violations as small as going in fishing trips and selling text books.
fricking losers.
fricking losers.
