First offseason, huh?

You most likely did not consider all potential alternate accounts, etc. But,regardless, solid point.

The corn dog thing died off a lot. You really only see scattered references to it, and usually by LSU fans.

An Oklahoma fan wrote a piece entitled "Nebraska fans smell like corn dogs" or something similar, probably because of all the corn in NE and fans of Oklahoma don't like fans of Nebraska.

Around 2000, an Auburn fan auto switched all the Nebraska references to LSU probably because fans of Auburn don't like LSU.

Lagniappe fact. In 2001, I went on an Auburn forum posing as an Arkansas fan and wrote a long diatribe trashing the LSU players and Louisiana in an attempt to get the team fired up for the game. After the game, Josh Reed referenced the post in which I referred to him as a midget.

Aggie used it quite a bit.

They never have been original though.

I love how this supposed origin story doesn’t actually have any evidence behind it and it’s always vague references. No one has ever been able to show anything with this supposed common origin story that was copied.

I don't think you love it.

A lot of us were shite-talking each other before Tigerdroppings.com was swinging in daddy's nut sack. We saw the original "LSU fans smell like corndogs" post on the Auburn board and then read the original that it was taken from. I don't know or care if any of those boards still exist, but plenty people were able to see it unfold real-time and we live to tell the stories to our children and grandchildren.

Maybe people thought LSU fans are corny? I have no answer since I never posted anything related to corndogs.

Because some dumb shite (auburn fan I believe) stated that LSU fans "smell like corndogs". It's totally stupid and they think it's funny and apparently think that it is in someway offensive to we LSU fans. Personally, I know for a fact that I don't smell like a corndog and neither do any of my friends that are LSU fans. We take baths, we wear cologne, and it's just a weak attempt that other fans use to try and get under our skin bc we kick their asses on the reg. That's all it is. Lol.

Why do LSU fans hate this association so much? Corn dogs are delicious. When I lived in BR my company's high end tailgate always had mini corndogs alongside whatever else they were serving for the kids and embraced it.

I dont think we hate it.

Just kind of an odd "insult" and random association.

Especially since corndogs are much more of a Texas product as I referenced in my OP.

It just feels like some desperate reach.

I’ve been to many Oklahoma/Texas games and the staple food first choice to always get was a Fletcher’s Corny Dog; drench it in mustard and it was go time. So damn good!!!
