I think Billy D will ask his wife first before accepting the position. She was giving him the stink eye during the Orlando Magic presser.

Maybe its Foley, Meyer pulled the same shite with retirement.

Are you really saying LA isn't attractive to a potential head coach?

A bit overstated IMO.

They just completed a $136 million renovation of Pauley Pavilion.

Meh. If they're legitimately looking at violations with Shabazz and Co. whomever takes that job is going to get a hell of a lot of leeway. If Indiana could get Tom Crean to come in there's no reason UCLA couldn't get Stevens or Smart.

FTR: I don't think anyone on the collegiate level could get Donovan, so I won't say they can get "anyone". But it's not going to be slim pickings for them either.

Which begs, the question. Why did ol Roy go to UNC?

One of the more ignorant questions I have seen on this board in a long time.

LOL. In Donovan's case he pays 0 state income tax in FL.

That is just the arena, the fans see that, the athletes see other facilities on a daily basis (training, academic, dorms, etc)

Doubtful. Another factor in who gets the job will be style of play, since that was huge bitch from the fans with Howland.

Donovan's name is mentioned because the AD is practically obligated to show that he is looking to land the best coach in the nation.
Billy would not fit in LA- he just wouldn't. He has roots in Florida now. He is going to coach his son next year and has a loaded class, why would he, it would be more moronic than leaving of Orlando before changing his mind.

He left for the NBA for a week.
Wouldn't shock me if he wanted a new challenge at some point.
With football, there's no pressure to make the Final Four every year at Fla in hoops.

It would make it easier for him to film his shitty logistics commercials. Seriously, those things are embarrassing. Good coach, terrible spot.

UCLA can not haz...he can stay at UF another 30 years imo, and easily another 20. Multiply that x 3.5 mil. And I am sure he will get raises. That is a ton of cash with little to moderate pressure.

I am not sure there has been any serious mention of Donovan, everything I have seen he has been mentioned along with Pitino and Izzo. None of those guys are going there.

I think if Billy ever leaves Florida, it'll be for the NBA again.

Donovan to UCLA sounds like pie in the sky. With roots in the east and SEC establishing a new base in the west would take a few years to build. Why reinvent the wheel if you do not have to?

they are UCLA, he doesn't need to establish recruiting bases. They get recruits on name alone

More than just recruiting. Getting settled and staffed with a whole new location takes time. I was thinking more east coast vs west coast mindset.
