I’ve been seeing a lot of former players on social media complaining about not getting free tickets. I think they should have to pay like everyone else.

LSU has former stars on the sideline (Beckham, Shaq, Skenes at the Ole Miss game). It’s great advertising for the program and to mingle with recruits.

We have an allotment for former players and their families on a first come / first serve basis. If that doesn't suffice, they are being childish.

I’m sure the player can get in no problem. If he’s looking for 20 more tickets to sell then it becomes a problem.

Gators need the income from those tickets to pay that buyout that's looming.

I do not feel any sympathy for the athletes that have to pay. Those athletes were pampered throughout school.

I also understand the optics that come with not providing tix. A small first come first basis is good to go if you ask me.

They built what we see today, to a certain extent, and most didn't get paid like they do now. I think there should be a section for former players.

Ags have it. First come first served. I think it is limited to about 400 seats and there is another area without seats if I recall. One of my good friends played TE and I know he went to a few games this year and is going this weekend. I can find out.

If you were a great player for your school, you're not going to have to pay.

If you were par or subpar, get in line.

Gator tickets are probably $5 at Publix.

Free tickets were prob easier to score for former players before the current players started asking for every last dime.

Only poor schools don't give former players free tickets. That would be so embarrassing to me.

This is correct. The AD’s have unlimited all access passes they can give out to whoever they please.

If Dak Prescott wants to go to a state game or Joe Burrow wants to enjoy the sideline in tiger stadium they are getting tickets no matter what

I agree. To a certain extent. That’s a LOT of seats to just hold for if former players want a ticket. But there has to be a better way of going about it. They put their bodies through hell for that team/school. They should be allowed to have tickets or access of some kind if they want.

Actual students burning midnight oil studying and doing odd and end jobs while consuming student loans and ramen noodles is hell too.

Because it’s a courtesy to former players…. The Vol for Life program gives them tickets if they ask, give them access to facilities, to practice, to trainers, etc.. Thanks why you see guys on the sidelines at Vols games, they are a Vol for life (as long as they are in good standing with the university) and welcome home.
