Why Do Bama Fans hate Urban Meyer so much?

I saw a Facebook post on 24/7 about how Meyer is heading back to the NFL. Then came the bombardment of comments of Alabama fans bashing the guy saying his heart won’t make it and he will quit. I didn’t know the hate was so strong. Is this true? If so why?

Every time Meyer had to face pressure from fans he "got sick" and had to retire for his health. How do you think the Jags fans will treat him when he goes6-10 and misses the playoffs? And remember, the owners make more money when they win, so he will be pressuring him too.

I mean, he has quit for that exact reason before. I think you see Alabama fans comment on that more than other fans because the first time he "retired" due to his health was after the 2009 SECCG.

Don't hate Meyer. I do wonder about his "illnesses" and how they always seem to be timed around his team suffering a loss. Funny how he was totally healthy when Florida won 2 titles in 3 seasons. Or when OSU won the 2014 title.
Wish him well at Jacksonville. That's gonna be an uphill battle.

Sounds like you are confusing hate with making fun of him for using health issues to leave the SEC and avoid Saban.

Yea, hate implies we despise him for football related stuff.
I think he's an incredibly gifted coach who is also a bit of a snake oil salesmen who always seem to sneak away as things are imploding.

It'll take a few years but once things aren't improving, poof.
And maybe it's legit, but dude keeps coming back and coaching so clearly it's either not that big a deal or he doesn't give a shite about it......until he does, which usually seems to coincide with issues with his team/program.

Try living in Jacksonville... it's the Florida fans saying the exact same shite. Why, because it's all true. If we draft sunshine, he'll be gang banging with the G.D.s by week 4.

I didn’t hate him when he left Florida. After seeing how he and his wife looked the other way for years when he knew he had a wife beater on staff, I saw that he was a trash human being. So, no, I don’t hate him. I just think he is human garbage.
