Why didn't OU leave in the 2010-12 saga when they were invited with A&M?

By all accounts, they were unofficially invited and had mutual interest. What was the hold up? OSU?

Edit:
Excited to have OU in conference and hope we get another H2H soon. Norman will be a trip I make this time.

Boren, Boone Pickens, and others, coupled with lots of threats by DeLoss Dodds to end the RRR game forever and other threats.

Boren wanted PAC/B1G or B12 for some reason.

Also, we all have the benefit of hindsight now.

I think back then there was still hope that parity would return to CFB and it would remain a national sport.

I dont think any of us realized that interest in CFB would die so quickly out west. Hell.....in another 5 years I could see the AAC being better than the PAC.

Probably 30% OkSt and 70% Deloss Dodds. It's gonna be kinda fun watching OU be able to come out of their shell against Texas a bit now that they're not totally tied at the hip.

Soy intake is very bad for testosterone production. Low testosterone = low football interest. This is why Texas is on the downward slide.. Never to return.

Boren was all about AAU status, which means nothing in Football. That is why he wanted the BiG and PAC. He piled huge debt trying to get there. He let his wife inhibit or destroy many things. For instance, she had OU hired a broadway director to be the band director. What they did on the field would make you throw up. He was also a politician, which makes him want to go along to get along

btw, the aggies don't have a clue why OU does things. Never have and never will. They are confused enough with their texsa relationship. But money in the bank is that it had 0 to do concerning them

They were scared of the SEC, unlike some other schools.

Because Boren was a high-brow douche and wanted OU to be affiliated with academically prestigious schools in the PAC or B1G.

Then 13yo Joe Burrow told them to stay where they are.

He had something to give them in 2019.

They obeyed.

Bad move.

I do wonder what would have been with that PAC adding all the Big12 programs:

Pacific:
Arizona
Arizona St
California
Oregon
Oregon St
Stanford
UCLA
USC
Washington
Washington St

West:
Baylor
BYU
Colorado
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St
TCU
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Utah

If wanting to add more to go to 24: Boise St, Nebraska, Missouri, kansas.

Could have been interesting, glad it worked out for us the way it did.
