Wear Crimson

I am so glad. Had season tickets on the 40 for decades before moving to AZ five years ago. Had to buy one white OU T-shirt and one OU sweat shirt for the stripe games. They always had the same pattern.

I am flying in on Thursday and will only wear and bring crimson. If fact only wearing crimson all week.

Thanks for the info regarding Catch the Rush Live. I plan on being there. Easy to find me, I will be wearing OU stuff.

It will be a long day, as my plane is scheduled to depart Phoenix at 5:00, and we don't have DST.

One of the most fun places I have gone for an OU game is Boston, where the OU club meets.

Looking forward to flying out to philly on Friday for the Temple game. Will fly the following Thursday to OKC for the Auburn game.

Try to make an away and a home game per year.

Before moving to AZ, and I still lived in north texas, I worked with them helping people after three hurricanes, as I provided hurricane victim support. They are incredible. They provided me a channel to communicate with them, on a two-way radio app.

Nothing but outstanding people.

The OU fan base largely consists of folks who drive in from OKC or Tulsa and then get TF out of Dodge post game, win or lose.

Mostly true. As a season ticket holder for 28 years, (until moving to AZ to be around my grandkids), Many of us drove up from the DFW. The seats next to ours were owned by a guy in the panhandle and the people he gave the tickets to were usually from the panhandle. They spent more time driving than us. People behind us drove from Missouri. I find that those of us who drove much more, arrived earlier. We had season parking at the Methodist church and took our time in Norman. We didn't stay long after the games though.

The good news about the blow-out games is that all the OKC and Tulsa people left early and made it a bit easier for us to get out of town after the games were over.
We all know $100 handshakes happen everywhere, but OU was one the few schools embracing instituionally-driven systemic cheating for many decades. They did it better than most. Now that everyone can pay players, OU will never be relevant again

Texas fans started this a long time ago. Both Texas and Tennessee had ADs for several years that would tell on other schools, which kept the NCAA looking the other way.

Reality is twice Switzer was found guilty of paying for players to attend family funerals, and he told the NCAA he would do it again, in necessary. Other than that the biggest problem that Switzer caused was that Texas was one of the last schools to integrate their football team, (after othe schools like Mississippi). This allowed Switzer to take a lot of kids that other schools would not recruit. That created a loyalty to Switzer by black HS coaches that lasted several years. DeLoss Dodds, the guy who ruined two conferences, yelled that OU was buying players and of course all their fans believed whatever he said
It is in Dallas. When you see a situation of texsa being ranked #1, their fans come out of the woodwork.

Thank you.

Looking forward to playing in the SEC. Wish you guys were a little more even-handed with the schedule. But believe OU will show up
Was looking at Ole Miss, until I saw the price for tickets. May make Auburn.
Easy. I told you guys that I am old. First attended: OU beating Colorado 42-12, 10/03/59

First on TV: no idea. My mom was one of the biggest OU fans I have ever been around. I was born in 48 and can't remember a time not watchin OU.

Some of them I would hate to see show up here, which would cause me to exit, or do we have a block feature?

I moved from TX to AZ, but am older than dirt and been on boards for way too long
Your position is somewhere between silly and stupid. OU has scheduled ND, GA, Al, and TN, but afraid of AR? OU has been willing to schedule anyone. AR has always said NO!
You should look up who has a winning record in the series.

If you look at when they quit wearing leather helments, OU has won the series. But, texsa built up a great lead in the late 1800s and until WWII started.

I have watched three games where the old SWC refs stole the game, including the Stansberry interception, where the Austin American Stateman showed it and captioned it "The Interception That Never Was". Typical texsa fans just thought it was funny.

look at the name Jack Cisco with OU-Texas game. Texas Rangers had to protect that crook. Heck, while old yellow tooth was coaching, the refs stole a game from Arkansas State. Nothing to brag about there

We’ve gotten to know the Hawgs and Gamecocks over 30 years and they’re like old family now, and we’ve recently come to understand A&M’s affinity for gay porn and weird cheers, and we’ve done our best to ignore Mizzou, ‘cuz y’know, who fricking cares. I know a little about your football history because you’re a traditional power with Nattys, Heismans, all-Americans, etc. but I gotta admit I don’t know much about Sooner fan culture. Game Day traditions, cheers, game day culture…can you give the OG’s a synopsis?

I went to my first game in 1959. So, I have seen a bit. My son went to aTm, because they provided a scholarship. If I pushed, he would have gone to OU, but it would have cost me out-of-state tuition. aTm, was a good school for him.

We have our terrible posters, like any team. But for the most part, a couple of things. One if, you want talk about "what they are going to do", then leave that to your two Texas teams. We are not so much into that. Second, we don't give excuses when we lose, like Auburn and Florida did, when they lost to OU. Third, OU only counts AP nattys. I hope they never use the SEC method, but they would be in the teens. They only count conference championships, where they WIN the playoff, unlike a SEC texas team.

We moved from Texas to AZ two years ago and gave up our 40 yard line season tickets. We had a school president that almost killed a lot of the football school spirit and we have spent the last few years trying to recover. So, we are currently below SEC standards in that area. But we are aware of it and it will take us a few years to catch up to where we were, before David and Molly Boren.

The liar, TBOW, left the OU team in the most desperate state since the 90s. Especially on D and TBOW new it. The current OU D coaches were shocked at what the D players did not know, that they considered just basic football. That is why he was playing LSU against USC. LSU dodged a bullet, imo

OU fans (the true fans, not just internet fans) are considered pretty knowledgeable. I have, going back to my season ticket days, (even when we had season tickets to aTm, when my son went there), some good friends from across the country and we try to make an away game and home game a year. Me from AZ, a guy in northern Ohio and one in NC, come the farthest. They are great guys, imo.

Two coaches made a huge difference in the history. Bud Wilkenson had a TV show every Sunday where he taught the masses football. He was also early in playing black players. A couple of things about Switzer, is he always gave his players and assistance all the credit, but he was a great Offensive mind. Second of all, Mister Royal, who still holds one OU record, was until the day he died a racist. Even after he retired. (I know people who played golf for him). Barry, who grew up on the "other side of the tracks" as the son of a bootlegger, killed Royal, especially in the Houston area, until Daryl started reluctantly recruiting guys of color. Joe Washington, who is currently on staff at OU, was told by his dad/coach in Port Arthur, he could go to any school he chose, except texsa, because of the overt racism. Many a time after a game, I would congratulate a visiting family for coming to the game, and was told that they gave the excuse that they were watching a relative, but had traveled from California or New Jersey to finally be at a game in Norman, (all because of Barry's reputation) of playing players of color.

OU is not where they want to be, just like Alabama was not, the last couple of times OU beat them. But, many of us believe that possible by 26 or 27 we should be able to hold our own, if we can make the changes needed.

I have been to games in Bryant Denny. I went to the last game in Knoxville. I have been to Gainsville. And when we played LSU in N.O. The Alabama fans were great, some of the best I have been around. Knoxville was a great experience. Florida was good. I, like many of my friends, do not welcome the experience of playing LSU at night. Bunch of young people surrounding people over 65, threatening them and spitting on them is not what I consider an experience with a true Blue Blood team.

Speaking of Mizzou, some of their best teams since Divine was coaching there were beat by Bob Stoops. The Hogs have ignored us, forever. Most at OU felt it was because they felt that the potential of losing to OU was more than they wanted to deal with, recruiting wise. But, we really don't know why they ignored us. So that will be a bit different.

My question is for the SEC away game, next year, I am thinking Ole Miss.

She was very sexually aggressive with other females. Her coach would protect her against anything.

I kept it to Briles because that's the subject of this thread. But everything you said is true. Baylor's stench runs much deeper than Briles.

I have several friends who are mid-level donors at Baylor. My dad's brother would not send his kids to any other school. (It's a Baptist thing.). So I know a bit about them from multiple levels

Baylor has always been weird. Back when aTm was in the conference Baylor insisted that aTm was a rivalry game. But that was only in the Baylor fan's minds.

They control the Sheriff's office, Waco PD, and local media, until a city paper in an adjoining county broke the Briles scandal. Texas is a strong county judge state, and they control the county judge.

I have not checked lately but most all of the girl's families have settled. If you follow those girl's lifes, after Baylor, it is classic PSTD issues. Last I checked there was one dad in San Antonio who has not settled. His daughter has been through a lot of PSTD. Word is that when a Baylor lawyer came to the country club in San Antonio to speak with him, he beat the guy all the way to his car. He says that he will get his money, regardless. But, he can't get his daughter's life back. If Baylor can make this last a decade or so, then they can claim that "they fixed all the problems and can't be held accountable", which is a lie, because they have fixed nada

Baylor has a rule that you can't drink on campus. They know that kids do it all the time and only threaten to enforce it when a girl claims that a male athelete sexually accosted her, even if the girl had not been drinking. She can't prove she had not and they always have those that will testify against her.

They are sleazy, liars and hypocrites. I am friends with one Baptist pastor that was on some atheletic counsel and would meet with them to pray at games. When this happened he resigned and his next daughter went to aTm, even though they provide big discounts to PKs.

People have no clue how dirty and sleazy they are
I used to have an office in Stephenville when Art was the coach and Kendal was on the team. Every Spring Art would give the players big goals for Summer practice. It was Kendal's job to provide them with the PEDs to meet those goals.

Some texas HS coaches were blown away by two things. A) Art is off the charts brilliant B) he is such so arrogant that he would do sleazy things they would like to have done but didn't have the guts. He denies that there are any lines that can't be crossed to win a game with his team, with fans, with competitors, with anyone

I knew him well before he ever got to Baylor. He is a brilliant mental case. Kendal is pretty sharp but he doesn't have his dad's mental issuse that I know of
