you certainly aren't a student of history. the university of Georgia predates the green bay packers by over 50 years. it is the packers that copied UGA's logo.

Thank you for the comprehensive answer. It seems there is a lot of mis information coming from LSU fans. I’m not sure why they’re so interested in being wrong.

Actually the Bears copied the Reds logo...the Bears made a slight adjustment to the opening of the C.

And the Indians,Twins and even the Cubs all used it.Gee,amazing that teams "copied" a font and a letter in the alphabet. How exactly did they "get away"with it???

You would think with how Clemson has treated them they'd be sympathetic to Green Bay.

Because they're all copying the University of Chicago who introduced the C in that script and those dimensions in 1898 and they're too busy being rich and smart as shite...and bad at sports... to care about who uses their logo.

That’s not true. Go look at the font on MS Word. Tell me how many you find and report back.

Also, why are there so many Clemson fans on here?

Why do you think Georgia and LSU fans are so focused on your spelling rather than the topic at hand? Is it because they're insecure about their own intelligence or because they're unwilling to concede that Green Bay made the logo first?

I don't understand the shame in it really, there's nothing embarrassing about it. It's not like the two organizations are competing for fans or opinion. When people outside of Georgia see that G they instantly think "Green Bay". For a dispute to exist there has to be threat, for threat to exist there must be some degree of parity and there simply isn't in this case.

I'm guessing they think Dooley was trolling the Packers by asking them permission to use a similar "G" design.

A variation of that seems to be part of their talking points.

"Guys, when we sought a license to Green Bay's trademark it was a courtesy we felt compelled to extend as proper and polite Southerners"

Yea ok, sure. If that's how you want to rationalize it that's fine. Go try to trademark it like Grambling did then.

Packers own the trademark for the oval G, end of story. UGA and Grambking use it with their permission. Would be funny if the Packers cut them off and UGA had to come up at their own logo. Serve the little pricks right for being logo thieves.

With ALL the teams using a letter in the alphabet and nobody thought to trademark earlier. Not the Reds,Cubs,Twins aND NUMEROUS college teams???Kinda strange.

What about the script A for the Braves and Alabama ?
How exactly did the Braves get away with it?

How bout the block N for Nevada and Nebraska?Look it up.

Why is an SC fan so concerned about the UGA logo BTW?

If they ever want to renovate Lambeau again and those shares don't sell right you can bet your arse Athens will be paying for it with increased license fees.
