Why is an SC fan so concerned about the UGA logo BTW?

I'm from WI originally, I'm a life long GB fan and became an owner in 2011. I lived many years in Georgia and got tired of the awkward "Why is'ya jawja shird green?" questions.

Not sure why you're bringing up all these other teams, they're irrelevant as to the question the OP raises, but the answer in those cases is probably similar to the one here. Either the trademark holder has a license agreement with the other organizations or they're too altruistic to care.

So why don't you trademark it then?

What does the 'R' mean to you?

Do you seriously think that UGA doesn't have licensing?

It means reserved. A work used under license is still going to include that.

Of course UGA has licensing to other logos but Green Bay holds the trademark to that design and Georgia uses it under a license agreement the university has with the Packers. This is a known thing dude. Read this thread. I'm not going to rehash everything that's already in here.

Look at your own damn pictures that you posted and that I copied from your post.

Which 2 look the most alike?
What are the timestamps on them?

This isn't rocket science.
This is kindergarten "match the shapes" level execution.

I believe in you. Focus.

Green Bay holds the trademark this is a known thing:

quote:

The Green Bay Packers hold the trademark. They've used their oval G since 1961. The NFL club says it granted limited permission to use a similar mark to the University of Georgia (in 1964) and to Grambling.

That's like your opinion, man.

The current Green Bay logo was first designed by UGA.

Like you said... it is all in this thread already.

Anyway, they are beautiful helmets.

You're arguing from emotion meansonny. It's ok that you copied an NFL team, many colleges have done it. I have well-known facts and reputable sources, you have your feelings.

It doesn’t matter that we have a similar logo to GB, what matters is our red and black logo is much more recognizable than south Carolina’s even if it is a different color than GB.

Considering that I haven't changed any perspective or point through this thread... I'm arguing from fact.

Don't hate on me because the Green Bay Packers recognized a better logo and they decided to register it at the trademark office.

If there was no difference between the 1961 Green Bay and the 1964 UGA... there would be no need for refiling at the trademark office in 1980 for the Packers.

Playa recognizing Playa shouldn't be shunned.

Let's stay on topic here. This isn't about South Carolina and it isn't about who designed the logo first or owns it, we've already established that it was Green Bay. OP's question is why did they do it?
