Why did Jimbo lose his quarterback evaluation skills after 2012?

A spin off of my earlier topic, Jimbo's 2012 recruiting class landed him Jameis Winston and Sean Maguire.

Winston was obviously a great talent and Maguire was serviceable.

After that, however, the wheels fell off the proverbial wagon.

2013

John Franklin III

Transferred to East Mississippi Community College, then to Auburn, then to Florida Atlantic where he played receiver. Made the NFL as a defensive back.

Appeared on Last Chance U

2014

JJ Cosentino

Left the team after being the third string quarterback for most of his four years with the program

2015

Deondre Francois

Kicked off team due to a domestic dispute then transferred to Hampton

DeAndre Johnson

Kicked off team after punching a woman at a bar, then transferred to East Mississippi Community College, then to Florida Atlantic, and finally to Texas Southern

Appeared on Last Chance U

2016

Malik Henry

Kicked off team due to rule violations, transferred to Independence Community College but was also kicked off that team. Walked on at Nevada but ultimately left the program.

Appeared on Last Chance U

2017

James Blackman

Transferred to Arkansas State

Bailey Hockman

Transferred to North Carolina State, then to Middle Tennessee State

2018

James Foster

Transferred to Charlotte

This is just absolutely brutal, many of these guys couldn't even earn starting jobs at the lower levels of college football, including JUCO.

A better question is why do you always troll? I mean, like nearly 27,000 posts in 19 months and nearly all are troll posts, mostly about Alabama, but a good lot to A&M fans. I know why A&M. Because Alabama is out of your league and after Fisher won 2 of 3 vs LSU you fear you're about to be 3rd in the division.

But why do you always troll and rarely ever start a thread to actually discuss the game? Is it because you don't know much about the game, or what?

Basically the only viable P5 starter in this group was Deondre Francois in 2016 when he completed 58% of his passes for 3,350 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.

He did a reverse Malzahn where instead of recruiting drop back guys who fit his scheme he decided he wanted only (inaccurate) dual threat guys who struggled to operate his offense.

Not sure why this has bothered you so much.

None of these guys ever played at Alabama and only one played for A&M.

Weird melt, Granny.

I mean this thread is literally about "the game."

Shocking Ed didn't try to pick him up after this. Folks who hit women gotta look out for one another.

Seems like he was trying too hard to find the next Jameis.

That trend has continued at Texas A&M.

You are so butthurt that I eviscerated your poor attempt at statistical analysis that you started another thread about this.

Jameis was a drop back guy.

This is the lie that just won't die.

Ed O career record: 61-41, 4-1 on bowls, (5 of 9 seasons, didn't even make a bowl.)

Steven Sarkisian career record: 46-35, 3-2 in bowls (won the holiday bowl twice and the fight hunger bowl once, lost the Alamo bowl twice.)

Jimbo (without Jameis): 82-32, 7-1 in bowls (never missed a bowl, 3 Orange bowl wins.)

He was the #1 dual threat quarterback in the country.

I’m genuinely curious what your obvious interest is in Jimbo/our QB situation. A brief search yielded many instances of you discussing the topic; but here’s a handful of threads you’ve started. Are you someone who tends to focus on the offense? Because I get that. I just don’t see you inquiring much about other teams/coaches.

Since Jameis:

14-10 in ACC play despite having the most talent in that conference including a 5-6 record in 2017.

He was in no way shape or form a dual threat QB in college. He was also like a 5 second 40 guy

You’re either 16 years old or didn’t start watching football until very recently
