You've got a point there. Losing to Arkansas 2 of the last 7 years really was the low point of our year.
But it was fun hanging 63 on you guys in Fayetteville. I cant imagine we'll do much more than that in Oxford this year.

A&M played this perfectly. Ole Miss had to pony up, when he’s probably leaving in a few years anyway.

Beard is waiting for the LSU job, which will be open in 2026.

Arkansas never offered beyond and lane flirted with Auburn which cost ole Miss more money. You may wanna go back and look at the facts.

I know the intimate details of what happened in both cases. First not only did Arkansas offer they got Lane to sign a letter of intent. However Kieth Carter flew to Boca Raton Florida and pitched the Ole Miss job which Lane had previously been approached about. Lane was not our first choice. After Norvell turned down the offer and immediately offered Lane. He backed out of the letter of intent and accepted the Ole Miss job.
Regarding Auburn. Lane and Auburn had been in discussions from mid way through the season. He was all in on leaving for Auburn. He daughter confronted him once it leaked and refused to support his move. His parents were in Oxford and his daughter was a student at Ole Miss. His son was set to play football in Oxford and wanted to stay. So his daughter basic put the kabash on it. Ole Miss got their act together and upped his pay and increased the NIH.

In addition to the extra $500K, Kiffin made a copy of his master key to the sorority houses. He shares the same affinity for dumb girls with daddy issues…we can’t compete with that.
