We signed 7 instate last year, how do you figure we only had 6 go in the entire BCS?

And you missed the point anyway.

I went by the top 10 in Arkansas on Rivals.

LINK

I just assumed all of Arkansas's signees would have been in the top 10 in the state of Arkansas.

#2 on that list was committed to Arkansas but didn't get his grades and #10 is a preferred walk-on.

Who won that Arkansas LSU game in 2008 anyway?

No.

Kids want to be here - this despite the decade of futility we just went through.

Conversely, Arky's had a remarkable four year run. But hardly any heavily recruited kids want anything to do with you. That means whatever is keeping kids from signing with Arky is so stingy in nature that not even winning - recruiting's ultimate gambit -can eradicate it.

Recruiting is the lifeline of any program - it's the pulse of it. You guys are flatlining. But don't worry. You won't actually die until 2013.

If kids want to be at Texas A&M so bad, then why don't they want to win football games?

Do they dislike winning?

Do they just like male cheerleaders?

I would think that if they want to be there as bad as you are implying then they would want to win a football game. Maybe that's not part of it for them. That's fine. I think Arkansas likes players that enjoy winning football games. And I like that too.

Mallett was on that squad too. I'd take it.

The answer is simple.

Arkansas had a fantastic coach in Petrino while A&M has been stumbling through mediocre coaches for the last 10+ years.

I think Arkansas recruits fine, they just don't get the love from recruiting pubs that bigger schools do.

They have to be doing something right, they've been to Atlanta 3 times and a BCS game.

If this isn't a troll you have to look at their home state.

It's small and doesn't develop a lot of talent. Plus, they are surrounded by Texas, Texas AM, LSU, OU and a few others. Not the best situation to be in. IN fact, I'd say it's probably the hardest situation in the country as far as recruiting goes. They've done a pretty damn good job looking at it that way.

Just unfortunate for them the schools that are close by them. Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, etc...all just a hop/skip away from Arkansas. All programs with more "draw" than Arkansas has in what is talent rich areas. Imagine if Arkansas was located in California. Their main competition would literally be USC and they could be the #2 program out there and suck up a lot of the top CA talent.

I guess you'll have to hope LSU being at their worst in the last decade more often then.

So, Arkansas to the PAC? Not bad.

That would only marginally help them recruiting wise, they would have to literally relocate the school to CA to get those kids on a consistent basis.

Think about the competition though - top CA kids have been choosing mostly 1 place to go in state, and that's USC. Their other options have been very mediocre overall in the state - UCLA, Cal, Stanford (outside of Luck era). Then you have the Arizona schools which are both mediocre. Then you have the Washington schools which are both BAD to mediocre. Then there's Oregon, who only fairly recently became more and more of an option, but Arkansas could easily compete with them for recruits in CA if located out there. Oregon State blows usually...Utah/Colorado? Give me a break.

Sorry to bring facts into your flame attempt but our last two classes were ranked 17th and 19th by Scout. Those are back to back the two highest ranked classes we've ever had I would think.

We didn't lose any of them when CBP left either which was a minor miracle.

We did well for ourselves these last two years with classes ranked in the thirties so these next 3 yrs looks pretty bleak for the rest of the SEC.

Rivals never ranks Arkansas very high. I think they get a lot of play out of their "look back" articles where they go back and show how clue-less they were in coming up with their initial rankings compared to how the players actually turned out.

Arkansas consistently gets re-ranked 10 - 20 spots higher than their initial ranking by Rivals.
