Why Aren't There Any 7ft WRs?

It doesn't make any sense to me. Sure, a guy who's 7 feet tall may not be very fast, but he could run to the first down line and stand there, and nobody could out jump him. You could employ him in the redzone, or on a hail mary.

Basically how is a 6ft DB gonna out jump a 7ft WR?

Surprising to me that no teams have ever tried this...

There are plenty of 6+ foot guys who will still get up higher than a 7 footer in pads, when high pointing the football.

Speed lost isn't everything, but you also need a frame to block, or your substitution pattern will be telegraphing the play call. That makes defending plays a lot simpler.

I bet there are way more 6ft DBs that could high point a football better than a 7ft WR

Because if you are 7’ tall with good enough skills to be even an average WR, you will make way more money and have a much longer career in the NBA

Mike Evans is the closest thing at 6-7. He can run but tends to pull his hamstring a lot. But yes he can out jump anyone for the ball.

I don’t think a 7 footer will be able to stride. They would be used for goal line and end zone packages.

Could be effective but most stick to basketball.

we have a 6'6 WR coming from the portal

correction, he's 6'7

LINK

video

hope he isn't prone to dropping the ball. He catches with his body and/or cups the ball mostly in his video - rarely catches with his hands, although he did make a few great catches with his hands

I like him! He's a taller version of Matt Landers

Football is a physical game. The idea of just having a tall player jog to a spot and jump real high isn't realistic.

A good CB will press and bump and stick and hit you in the mouth the second you touch the ball.

Because 7 foot with hood bone density is rare. And add in any 7’ guy athletic enough to be a successful WR is going to make more money and have a longer career in basketball.

Bama has to resort to this kind of behavior after Georgia punts them from the pedestal.

And btw( Georgia had a guy by the name Leonard Pope who played as a 6’8 TE and did everything you said the 7 foot guy could do.

Harold Carmichael (6-8) was outstanding in the pros, can anyone remember somebody taller than him?

Why don't hockey teams recruit their goalies from my 600 lb life? Try getting a puck past that much goo.

I remember “talk” of putting Shaq in at TE for LSU.
