We moved to Oxford when I was seven. My dad was finishing a double major in pre-med at Ole Miss. He would check me out of school early and take me to Hemingway Stadium ( called that then) to watch the Rebels practice. Then he took me to games.
In Jackson during his med school years, we could walk across the street to Memorial Stadium......lots of games there.
Since he was my hero, I love what he loved. He loved Ole Miss. Now those two years prior to MED School in Jackson WERE the championship days! Everybody was excited. 22 years ago I got the chance to move back to Oxford....I love it!
Once REAL Rebel.....ALWAYS!

Lexington born and bred, all my family went to UK, but I went elsewhere for my college. Maybe because everyone always assumed I'd go to UK as well. I don't know I'm not a smart, yall tell me.

I went to LSU. My wife went to LSU. Several family members went to LSU. An uncle played football for LSU. I was a student during a football championship season and a baseball championship season. There are lots of reasons.

My grandfather played football at MSU, but finished his degree at Ole Miss. I am an alum and so is my wife. Her side is mostly MSU with a few LSU.

You can't deny the badassery of having three sons named Blaine, Colt, and Hank
Like that's a power move, bro.

In 1947 I was 6 years old and saw a movie newsreel of Harry Gilmore throwing his jump passes. He turned me and thousands of young kids in Alabama into Bama fans.

Because I lost my virginity to an LSU fan

Because I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana and did not grow up a rich uptown kid. This undeniable fact means that if I did not grow up an LSU fan then my Father would deserve some sort of an arse whooping.

I was at my grandparents house on New Years Day and was bored so I started channel surfing. I came across a football game. On one sideline was a coach with coke bottle glasses and on the other was a larger than life old man with a houndstooth hat. The old man won courtesy of a goal line stand. I was 10 and impressionable and I've been a die hard Bama fan ever since. The ironic thing is that I got a degree from PSU.
