Well, a big part of the humor here is how Tennessee enabled this clown a couple of years ago by flying him in on a private jet. Now they can't believe he's ditching them. Yeah, that's funny.

Recruits have been flown in on booster jets going back to the 60s
Watson Brown has said on air Bama flew him out on a boosters jet when he was being recruited.

Exactly. Schools like Tennessee and pretty much all teams in the top 15 are reaping their just desserts for treating idiots who can run and jump as some sort of hero’s. The fact that the snakes are now biting the hand that fed them is awesome. Your schools created all this by treating this group of people as special. I don’t see teams like Vandy, Indiana, Purdue, GT, Wake dealing with this because those schools understand it’s a freaking sport and haven’t sold their soul to the athletic gods.
When Our #1 WR tried to shake us down last December, we laughed and helped him pack. And Auburn bought him. Good luck Auburn and enjoy players like that.

Had we paid you'd be posting that he isn't worth the money (which would be true).
Some people have the mental capacity to understand that people who you generally dislike can be right occasionally.

You guys don't count.... I mean count.
And I realize why, it was a rhetorical question.

I said this several months back, but I think you'll see a trend where better academic schools benefit from the NIL situation and make playoff runs spurred by a bunch of good college players who value their education. I think you kind of saw that at ND this year, though they did have to supplement their team via the portal at QB. Every school you listed is very good or at least above average academically.

The flipside to this and the team continuity argument is that Ohio St just bought a championship with transfers and paying for top tier high school guys like Jeremiah Smith.

I've always had empathy for Tenner. They have to wear sissy orange.

But the irony is that when the ncaa wanted to try to do something about the out of control pay for play ut sued them

Someone would have sued it if we hadn’t.

I think it shows how outrageous the situation is when even I'm siding the the water thieves in Tennessee.

Its not about Tennessee. This is a problem for all of college football and it would be incredibly short sighted to laugh at Tennessee right now since they happen to be the ones going through it right now. Its bigger than just Tennessee.
The problem with this line of thinking is that Tennessee didn't care what would happen to college football as a whole with their lawsuit. You don't remember the gloating all over this website when the lawsuit was settled?
They really showed the NCAA, didn't they.

Tennessee helped create this problem by your AG suing to make Nico’s contract legal, which at the time it was not. You reap what you sow Tenn you and cali f ed t is up for everyone

Teams outside the top 15 have been dealing with this for decades. I am using to seeing my 4 star commits flip on signing day due to a booster at another school. I’m use to my high end player being poached. It does happen to my team but not often and not on a scale that makes me lose sleep. For instance, Auburn bought one of our WR’s. I didn’t lose a lick of sleep because I’ve seen this player for 2 seasons. He’s fast and makes some great plays on occasion. But this country is full of 5’11” dudes who can sprint. Let Auburn deal with him while paying a nice sum. And when they don’t throw him the ball enough get ready for the advisors to start calling.

He's a prima donna punk, but Tenner deserves no sympathy here. All we heard the last 2 years was Nico this and Nico that. I'm sure that's all he heard as well, whether that came from fans, coaches or that Spire NIL group that just couldn't wait to spend their $$$ and look like saviors to the football program. Whether it's their NIL org or the McDonald's bags that came before them, Tenner is slimy and gets no sympathy from me.

Vol fans put this kid on a pedestal like he was 2019 Joe Burrow for about 2-3 years before he even saw the field. The amount of hype they gave the kid probably encouraged his entourage to believe that he was worth way more than he was worth.
There are no good guys in this story. frick nico and frick the Vols too for enabling this nonsense.
