Level playing field now. They no longer have the advantage that they have been having due to Saban being the best at working the system.

The elite programs will only extend their dominance over the others, because they've already got the mechanisms in place to handle things like name branding, and image enhancement. Alabama has been doing all this on a huge level for years!
I hate to see college football ruined by the lure of "business" incentives on individuals playing in team sports, AND the type of people the sports "business" will now attract to these young athletes.

Are you sure about that?

It's a reshuffled deck. Saban has always excelled whenever the rules changed. This time, however, it was NILSU with the billboards. And when NPR did a piece this morning it was an LSU AD official getting interviewed. I think Woodward and LSU stole a rare march on Saban.

Kind of like the first time we had the early signing day. UGA surged to number one that year and bama fell to #4. Saban hopped on that train quickly though and adapted.

West Coast schools about to Eat.

SEC schools can't compete with Nike/Hollywood/clothing sponsorship.

Because you don’t need to secretly pay kids and their families table under the money to go play in your dump of a state. Now kids can get paid legally which opens up their options, especially options to start immediately and still get paid.

Gumps don’t want parity after the run they’ve been on.

Not sure if NIL will do it but eventually the gumps will return to mediocrity

For Alabama, regressing to their mean means averaging a national championship and 2 conference Championships per decade.

For LSU, that's a golden Era. For Alabama it's old hat.

Mediocrity would be an exception rather than the rule.
So there's no such thing as "going back" to mediocrity for Alabama, when mediocrity is not a consistent occurrence in their history.

And lose revenue generated by all other schools selling Nike gear. You think USC will stay with Nike if Nike is buying recruits for a direct competitor? Would LSU? Bama?

ALL "advantages" in college football work out better for BAMA. That's what many of you don't understand. Change the rules? Ok. BAMA will adapt and still smoke you.

LOL and dumbass posters that think Nike will only help Oregon.

If they gave a say in it they push to any program on the top. To bad LSU is not and I understand why it bothers you.

If the Gumps will return to mediocrity?
Then where will LSU be? I mean they’re perennially behind Alabama based on any metric of the definition of success right?
