Dynasties do not have a 1-4 record vs their chief rival in the conference and you are staring down 1-5.

Bama has faced good offenses. Texas early season might have been better, they certainly were more talented at WR. The QB when healthy is as good and their LT is as good as anyone.

Some guest on Finebaum thinks UGA is three TD's better. I wonder if he'd be willing to bet on that?

I do not mean it as a disparaging comment about Beck. Georgia's offensive approach and Beck's skillset seem to indicate that he's not apt to improvise a ton though he can run for yardage if the easy pickings are available to him. There is nothing wrong with that...Alabama has won a lot of games and a handful of national titles over the years with QBs who aren't producing Johnny Football highlight reels.

It is actually harder to deal with good quarterbacks in these pro-style systems if run-pass balance can be maintained. Look at Stetson Bennett's career against Alabama: threw too many picks in the games where Alabama was pressing them to score (2 losses); threw two critical long touchdown passes in the game where their defense kept Alabama from getting a 2 score 2nd half lead and had to play the run honestly in the 4th quarter (1 win). Honestly, Stet did not play outright poorly in any of those games...his team lost control of the game and forced him to do things the offense really wasn't designed to do.

The reality is that is probably the same thing this time. It comes down to whether Alabama can score enough on Georgia to do creative coverages to make the Georgia QB wrong a few times in the 2nd half. That's why I haven't thought about Beck much...the key to making him wrong is probably forcing him to throw outside of run-pass balance and that requires a lot of things to go right for Alabama.

Georgia has won two national championships in a row. That is good.
